What about his Heisman chances?

[edit]

I can't believe there is no mention of Darren's chances at the Heisman his junior year. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.211.98.138 (talk) 14:24, 17 March 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Shortest active NFL Player?

[edit]

Is Sproles the shortest active nfl player? Here is a potential source.--Tvwatcher 21:23, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I think he might be i'll put it in the article with that as a source. - -[The Spooky One] | [t c r] 16:56, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The Raging Christmas Tree?

[edit]

The commentators on the Chargers/Colts game said "Tank" so I went with that. Funny. 69.39.17.119 (talk) 03:01, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The "Raging Christmas tree" seems to be vandalism by an anynymous IP. Rosterguy (talk) 03:06, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Highlights of college career

[edit]

If anyone wants to fill out the article this source has some of his college highlights [1]. ChildofMidnight (talk) 06:39, 4 January 2009 (UTC) Also, he's got some good nicknames: the toolbox, Mr. All Purpose, and the lightning bug, but they need to be sourced. :) ChildofMidnight (talk) 06:56, 4 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Lightning Bug Nickname

[edit]

Darren Sproles was not called the "Lightning Bug" during his college days at Kansas State. Not until he was well into his professional career with the San Diego Chargers did announcers begin using the moniker. Clearly, this was mainly due to his diminutive stature and speed, but the specific selection of "Lightning Bug" was also because of the lightning bolts associated with the Chargers organization/uniforms. Since actual lightning bugs (or "fireflies") are NOT particularly fast or agile when compared to other bugs, and any number of other animals or nicknames could have been used, it cannot be ignored that this nickname originated due to his membership with the Chargers' organization. He might keep the nickname if he goes to another team, but it was with the Chargers that he was first called the "Lightning Bug." ChargersFan (talk) 23:23, 3 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Height

[edit]

Is he 5'5" or 5'6", because the infobox says one thing, and the actual artticle has another. Thse two numbers need to be reconciled. --Criticalthinker (talk) 03:43, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

One more question, like most other players, was he ever precisely measured at a combine during his drafting. It'd be interesting to see if that's what may account for the discrepency. --Criticalthinker (talk) 07:15, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
This says he measured in at 5'6⅛" at the 2005 Combine. Eagles 24/7 (C) 17:45, 27 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
