9th December 2014. Death of Sheila Stewart. http://projects.scottishcultureonline.com/hall-of-fame/sheila-stewart/
81.159.203.83 (talk) 15:19, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- Not done: this list should generally only include people who already have an article about them, or conceivably could (Wikipedia:Notability). As far as I can tell, Stewart doesn't appear notable enough. G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 03:36, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- Done with a redirect to Belle Stewart, where she is widely mentioned. A WikiSearch also has her listed on several pages, which warrants linking here, in my opinion. — Wyliepedia 06:34, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- Hi Wyliepedia - in my opinion only, that is a bizarre redirect in the extreme. Purely because someone is mentioned in the article of another, albeit related, person, should not give a 'green light' for a redirect, or even a pipethru, to that other person. One person cannot BE another person. If anecdotal "mentions" were a valid criteria for a redirect, Wikipedia would go into meltdown as everyone, and everything, was redirected to the "mentioner's" article on the slightest pretext. It is acceptable, as far as I am concerned, to redirect to a notable group containing, or to a notable product of, the person - as has been done in the hundred thousands during the lifetime of this article and its forebears in other months/years - but needs to be kept to a narrow field rather than an expansive one, I feel. Also, finding yourself suddenly reading the biography of someone who is plainly not the subject in question seems, as I say, a rather bizarre experience. The more honest and obvious option would be a redlink, unless Sheila is to get her own article? I am not angling for a change or revert, just giving my opinion, for what it is worth. Perhaps there are other views on this? Thanks. 86.112.58.46 (talk) 14:27, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- G S Palmer - surely including the subject here becomes the test of notability, rather than outright and summary dismissal by one editor, or a few? Arrangements are, as you know, in place to remove redlinks upon, or a few days after, archival of the month article. 86.112.58.46 (talk) 14:30, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- @86.112.58.46: Wikipedia should never serve as a test of notability. The subject is either notable, or they are not. @CAWylie: I agree with 86 that the redirect is innapropriate. However, I will not revert it. G S Palmer (talk • contribs) 14:52, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- This is not the place to discuss her redirect, but rather her inclusion, which is warranted following a thorough Google/Wiki search. — Wyliepedia 15:34, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

In this instance, and aided by our lively discussion here and nowhere else, notability does indeed seem to have been tested and proven, with the creation (by another editor) of her own article (as an MBE, how could her notability ever have been doubted, or downgraded?). My point about "testing" notability here is merely to do with the insertion of redlinked subjects into the page (which is allowed), and whether they are subsequently chosen to have an article written about them (thus bluelinking them) before they are removed sometime after archival, due to them still being redlinks. So the "Deaths in ..." articles, alone maybe, transgress the rule about not proving notability through Wikipedia. Anyway, job done in this case. Thanks. 86.112.58.46 (talk) 08:03, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
Stephanie Moseley
[edit]The wikilink for Stephanie Moseley is a U-turn link returning to this page. I don't believe those are allowed. By contrast the guy who shot her and then killed himself gets a redlink. 68.146.52.234 (talk) 17:43, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
Stephanie Moseley - the blue link does not work!! Please correct! — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2.241.147.78 (talk) 22:00, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- Stephanie Moseley is redirected to Hit the Floor (TV series). She does not have her own article at this time. Everything is working as it should. WWGB (talk) 22:37, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- I think it previously redirected to the Deaths in 2014 page and it has since been fixed. Connormah (talk) 04:40, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- Also, "the guy who shot her" now has a link, which redirects to the song included in his entry (which is odd to me). If nothing more is added to his article, this will also be removed at the proper time. (Sidebar: this tragedy hopefully will not explode into "The Death of Stephanie Moseley" article.)— Wyliepedia 06:12, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- Wylie! Now you've said it, it probably will!! 86.112.58.46 (talk) 14:32, 10 December 2014 (UTC)

Ziad Abu Ein
[edit]A correction of the (short) presented death cause is needed! Consideration of other sources needed.
According to BBC source, only PA medics not only told he had died from tear gass suffocation (as presented here), but that he had been "martyred"(sic!), notwithstanding an official (not done so far) professional non-biased autopsy.
Abu Ein suffered from diabetes and high blood preassure, also refused immediate first aid from Israeli paramedics, and may had died from heart attack after had violently tried to froce his way past an IDF contingent, leading a protest over state land, and explicitely _not_ from tear gass suffocation, as Haaretz correspondent reports:
"According to left-wing Haaretz, which had a correspondent on the scene, sources close to Abu Ein said that he had high blood pressure and diabetes. The newspaper also said that Abu Ein had been leading a protest march against the existence of a Jewish outpost, Adey Ad, and that he appeared to be in good health as he led the Arab protesters, who tried to force their way past an IDF contingent. He did not seem to have been affected by tear gas fired at the Arabs earlier, Haaretz reported. Some pushing and shoving ensued, and Abu Ein walked away and sat down." ( http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/188475#.VIg-Wl0ZFQI )
Wikipedia may not publish espousing unilateral (PA) information as fact, supporting one side (PA), which also does not have shared values with the free democratic nations and institutions (wikipedia), like free independent press democratic elections, comprehensive human/religious rights for womenkind/homosexuals/christians/foreigners. --85.179.117.182 (talk) 13:15, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
I've added the cause of death indicated by the article as "complications following a physical altercation". I realize that this completely fails to properly capture the full color of the incident. I also realize that this is a highly emotionally and politically charged event. My intention was to describe the cause of death in a style similar to the other entries on the page, which all seem to list the physical cause, without any wider context, regardless of whether it captures the full set of details. I think that a clearer description will be able to be provided once the joint Jordanian-Israeli autopsy is conducted and released. Rustandbone (talk) 17:42, 10 December 2014 (UTC)
- thank you for your professional calm and mind :) --78.55.224.184 (talk) 12:23, 11 December 2014 (UTC)
- My pleasure. The autopsy has resulted in a disagreement by the doctors who participated, but Y has updated the article with the part of the finding that they both agree on. I believe for the sake of this article, that is the correct approach, as neither side seems to be disputing that base cause, rather they are disagreeing over what caused that to occur. When accessing the previous source link (at a website called "MacroInsider"), my antivirus flagged up a harmful javascript code buried in the webpage containing the information of his death. I have therefore changed the source as a matter of urgency. Ref (chew)(do) 20:49, 27 December 2014 (UTC)
Rhodes Reason
[edit]A Horror Film blog seems like a very weak source to be using for his death. I find no news reports his death. Should he be removed until a better source emerges? BurienBomber (talk) 18:29, 30 December 2014 (UTC)
- Rhett Bartlett, a.k.a. Dial M for Movies, tweeted about Reason's death two days before that blog post was even posted (http://twitter.com/dialmformovies/status/549059966334533633). Given Rhett's excellent track record due to his access to agents and other industry sources, it's safe to say that his report (and thus Dread Central's) are accurate. If another source is needed, however, just wait a few days; I'm sure Hollywood Reporter or Variety will pick it up. --ThylekShran (talk) 22:02, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
