- This article is new enough and long enough. The ALT1 hook facts are cited inline, the article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. I am not approving ALT0 and ALT2 because neither Billboard nor the article state that it was his twelfth birthday, only that he was twelve at the time he played. (If you want one of these hooks, you will need to redraft it.) No QPQ is needed here. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 06:00, 19 October 2020 (UTC)
- Hi, I came by to promote ALT1, but I don't see the WNBA mentioned in the article. I'm wondering what you think of this alt:
- ALT3:
... that Dieter Ruehle (pictured), stadium organist for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Kings, trained as a classical pianist?Yoninah (talk) 14:33, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- I think it's okay but I might add, now that the Dodgers have won the World Series, that is a better hook even. What do you think of this? Jessamyn (talk) 15:38, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- ALT4:
... that Dieter Ruehle (pictured), stadium organist for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Kings, has played at championship games in three different sports?Source: https://www.nhl.com/kings/fans/game-entertainment (Championship teams are Kings, Lakers and Dodgers, hockey, basketball and baseball respectively)
- @Jessamyn: well, the fact that they were championship teams must be mentioned and sourced in the article. Yoninah (talk) 15:46, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Good point, I can easily add that and then add a note here. I do think it's now the most notable thing about his career. Jessamyn (talk) 17:11, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: OK added and confirmed. I did send him a DM to confirm he was actually playing THOSE NIGHTS (as opposed to just being the staff organist) and he replied! And said yes. So the source, above, confirms the dates he was working for the teams. Let me kow if you think this will work? Jessamyn (talk) 18:26, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Jessamyn: I edited the sentence in the lead based on what's written in that source. The source is talking about playing at championship games, not for championship teams, so I think you should tweak the hook. Regarding playing for the Dodgers in 2020, a verbal confirmation is not going to work for Wikipedia. Yoninah (talk) 19:32, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- @Yoninah: Thanks for all your help with this. I think I've really gone as far as I can go with published sources and will just not include that communication. Let me know if you think this altered hook (edits made to ALT4 - which is reflected in the source) will work. Jessamyn (talk) 20:00, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
- I was going to reword the sentence in the lead about them being championship teams, but the fact is that he played for these teams and they won the championship that year, so I think you should leave that wording in both the article and hook. Here is an alt:
- ALT4a: ... that Dieter Ruehle (pictured), stadium organist for the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Kings, has played for three championship teams in three different sports?
- ALT4a verified and cited inline. Rest of review per Cwmhiraeth. ALT4a good to go. Yoninah (talk) 20:07, 1 November 2020 (UTC)
Correction
[edit]As of October 2020, Ruehle has played for three championship teams in three different sports: Dodgers in 2020; Lakers in 2002, 2009 and 2010; and Kings in 2012 and 2014. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 2600:6C50:80:4F1C:4D6B:6044:6AF7:A146 (talk) 22:48, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
