Needs update
[edit]The stats given for the base, S and R models apply to 2008 1098, not 2009 1198. I'm not sure how it got that way but it needs to be gone over again, and broken down by years (2009 and 2010) and different models, base, S, R, and special editions. Ducati doesn't tell us where they get their engine output numbers: it's obvious they're testing at the crank, and adding in a little extra for good luck, but that's only an assumption. It's still best to just call it "claimed" and let the reader make what they will of it. The published rear wheel numbers are a little more meaningful. And still, Motorcycle testing and measurement needs an improved explanation of where these stats come from and what they really mean. --Dbratland (talk) 19:26, 24 December 2010 (UTC)
