Deletion

[edit]

This article is preposterous. Essentially, he has appeared in one mildly popular viral video and competes in video game contests. He's also apparently not too good at the latter because his career winnings are $2,500. Even for an internet celebrity, the sources and notability of Freddie Wong are incredibly dubious. I proposed speedy deletion. Mcoogan75 (talk) 08:54, 25 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. This article doesn't even come close to notability. 66.191.19.217 (talk) 05:32, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I vote not to delete, the page is accurate and what use would deletion do? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.167.131.1 (talk) 08:33, 28 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]
delete. this is just some guy that makes videos on youtube and plays video games. thats about half the teen agers in america, so theres not much special about this one. if he goes out and makes a few real movies then there should be a page. 69.115.204.217 (talk) 15:21, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed. This article should clearly be deleted. If Boxxy, a far more notable YouTube user, doesn't get even a mention on Wikipedia, Freddie Wong certainly does not deserve an entire article. 24.183.110.143 (talk) 20:58, 4 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If you need to use Boxxy as a comparison, you really need to get off the internet. Coradon (talk) 09:12, 15 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Mr Wong has an IMDB page with a list of notable achievements including producing a feature movie released this year (2010). That combined with his dedicated following on his YouTube 'partner' channel and his achievement of a 'first' placing in international competition make him, IMHO, more than 'notable'. He is a 'multiple achiever' whose activities draw plenty of public interest. I'd like to see his Wikipedia page updated to reflect his achievements rather than be deleted. Weighing him vs. another YouTube producer is not a fair grounds for summary deletion. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 210.54.120.145 (talk) 01:03, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Vote for delete. This guy isn't notable at all. Electrosaurus (talk) 12:39, 17 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Vote for Keep, citing his video view counts, youtube 'partner' channel holdings, his working with traditional actors recently (see Time Crisis) and huge social media following. Internet notable, but notable nontheless. 77.98.244.155 (talk) 21:27, 16 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Enough with the talk, this isn't a place to talk about deletion. It's being proposed for deletion. "Your own opinions" aren't what make things notable on wikipedia. Wikipedia has a set of standards that deem articles notable. This article clearly is not notable as this person is merely an internet sensation and as another has said even lesser known than Boxxy.Woods01 (talk) 08:12, 22 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Speaking of Wikipedia's standards trumping individual opinions… Wong has been covered by the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Winnipeg Free Press, and an AP wire story picked up by the Dallas Morning News. An article on him therefore (barely) meets the general notability guideline described at Wikipedia:Notability. Melchoir (talk) 09:48, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
If there are still considerations for the deletion of his page. It should be noted that he was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live, and had a cameo on the final season of Chuck. Kuiper3 (talk) 05:56, 25 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
And now he also made VGHS, 9 episode series, that also do have its own wiki page. If there still was discusion, I would vote for keeping. Also, in response to older posters, who the hay is Boxxy? --TakeruDavis (talk) 21:18, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I think we can conclude that this page is worth of being kept. Jwikiediting (talk) 21:48, 18 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Needs to be far more Youtube oriented than his earlier successes with E-Sports, IMHO 90.204.167.83 (talk) 14:30, 23 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what happened to Brandon's page but when you type his name into the search tool, it links to this page.

Hi there, I am working on a project for a class that wants me to work on editing a page. I would like to add the cast members of the podcast Dungeons and Daddies, as well as an award they recently won. Would anybody be opposed to this?RGBeadlin (talk) 20:39, 22 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Relatives

[edit]

Would this work as a citation that both Freddie and Jimmy Wong are related to Corey Yuen? Considering Corridor is notable enough for its own article and they literally call Jimmy and he confirms it? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_qMkR91F1lg (at 9:18min) jonas (talk) 22:47, 3 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
