Indications that this is the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC for the title Gunnar Dybwad[edit]

The result of the move request was: Move. This is a WP:TWODABS situation and the rough consensus is that the professor has the edge. Cúchullain t/c 15:28, 29 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Gunnar Dybwad (professor)Gunnar Dybwad

  1. A Google (and DuckDuckGo) search has the first page of results heavily dominated by references to the professor, as opposed to the footballer, or other people with that name.
  2. The same is true of a search on Google Scholar.
  3. The relative number of wiki-links or traffic popularity is not very relevant, due to the difference in age between the two articles. 63.251.123.2 (talk) 21:56, 17 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Based on these factors, I've reverted the redirection. If you have additional evidence to present, or disagree with my weighing of it, feel free to revert it, and we can discuss further. Thanks for working to improve the wiki! -- User:JesseW/not logged in 22:07, 20 June 2013 (UTC)

You don't realize that the difference in age also is the reason that google only shows results for the professor? The age difference is infact so small that it doesn't matter much - but the traffic popularity is indeed a very strong indicator that neither of these article are primary topic. And as I've already stated, if you believe this article is WP:PRIMARYTOPIC, you need to start a requested move discussion, not just revert my changes. Mentoz86 (talk) 16:36, 22 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sorry about not opening a RM -- I missed your previous request (although I see it now). I've opened a RM now, although I do suspect that you may be correct about neither of the people satisfying the criteria for a PRIMARYTOPIC, which is why I'm leaving the disambig in place for now. But I would be curious what other non-involved people might think, if they happen to follow the RM entry. Finally, I'm not sure why you think the traffic popularity indicates neither is a primary topic -- maybe you could clarify this? -- User:JesseW/not logged in 21:56, 17 July 2013 (UTC)
  • Support - seems to be primary in GBooks. No need for dab per WP:TWODABS. In ictu oculi (talk) 01:58, 19 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support. Both are equally unpopular by pageviews. The prof is clearly the primary topic by all search engine tests (as mentioned), though I am generally doubtful about whether such a seemingly infrequent search term is represented proportionally. Anyway, WP:2DABS would apply if any one of the two (read: the prof) was clearly the primary, so count my assent. I am no longer watching this page—whisperback if you'd like a response czar · · 08:09, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Weak support per In ictu oculi. If this page weren't only recently moved to the disambiguated title, I might just say leave it be, but as such, I'd rather see this bold move reverted. --BDD (talk) 17:15, 24 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose - The footballer was located at Gunnar Dybwad before the article about the professor was created. As the page-views showed no indication that the professor was primarytopic, I created the dab-page, even though it isn't really necessary to have a dab-page when there is only two articles. If it was the other way around, that the footballer was created after the professor, I would have left the professor at Gunnar Dybwad with a hat-note to the footballer. But the way this was done I had a bad feeling that the move was a bit too "US-centric", and created this dab-page instead. WP:TWODABS says that a dab-page isn't needed if one of the articles are primary-topic, but I'm still not convinced that the professor is primary. Mentoz86 (talk) 13:13, 25 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Expanded Page[edit]

I expanded the page by adding content and references. Further development of the page is welcome, with reliable sources. An image would be a nice addition as well.SojoQ (talk) 08:38, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
