lemma,name
[edit]On de.wikipedia Portal_Diskussion:Hamburg our discussion about the lemma ended to keep the traditional and only official name de:Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte, Museum for Hamburg History. I would recommend to you to use the official lemma as on deWP or caWP. The same discussion is on Categories_for_discussion Museum_für_Hamburgische_Geschichte. The majority there is convinced to keep the official category name Museum_für_Hamburgische_Geschichte. So I suggest to harmonize the lemma also here. Regards--Oursana (talk) 14:00, 21 May 2013 (UTC)

Hamburg Museum → Museum for Hamburg History – Procedural nomination, copying User:Johnbod's comment at WP:CFDS: This is a mess! Their website uses "Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte" ("Museum for Hamburg History"). The article claims (unreferenced) that "The museum was named hamburgmuseum in 2006" but I can't see web refs for this on a quick look. "Hamburg Museum" appears to be wiki-home-made. There are several museums in H, run by a body that could be called "Hamburg Museums" in English, but the article is only about the history one. Rename the article. - Support - or the German "Museum für Hamburgische Geschichte" using "for" isn't very idiomatic imo. Both should redirect anyway. Note the section above, from 2013. Johnbod (talk) 14:27, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
- Support. Their English website uses Museum for Hamburg History, so that's good enough for me. Oppose using the German name per WP:USEENGLISH. Rreagan007 (talk) 15:42, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
- You keep misapplying policies. WP:USEENGLISH says to use the WP:COMMONNAME in English sources. Why do you think this is Museum for Hamburg History? Johnbod (talk) 18:09, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
- Because they use that name on their own English language website. Rreagan007 (talk) 22:10, 10 October 2020 (UTC)
- That by itself has little bearing on the WP:COMMONNAME. Johnbod (talk) 02:07, 11 October 2020 (UTC)

Permanent Exhibitions ?
[edit]"The museum's website lists its permanent exhibitions as:" - where is the alleged listing? The one I can see is much shorter.Xx236 (talk) 09:35, 27 October 2020 (UTC)
