"You can't have opinions about truth."
[edit]I'm not an expert on motorcycle history, but had no trouble seeing that something was wrong -- especially as it was difficult or impossible to confirm the more-extreme elements of the film (eg, Hendee being a major enemy of Harley-Davidson -- the opposite appears to be the case). A great deal of non-existent conflict seems to have been added for no other reason than dramatic "excitement". It's worth nothing that H-D praises the film for its period atmosphere, but says nothing about its historical veracity.
I and several other IMDb reviewers vigorously attacked the film, in some cases directly contradicting its conscious "misrepresentations". This article needs a section spelling out how this overwrought film deviates from the truth. WilliamSommerwerck (talk) 19:20, 13 September 2016 (UTC)
- That is if there's a reliable source or two for said criticisms. I too did note about how the producers exaggerated the Harley-Indian rivalry and the fact that Robert Aramayo's character called the Knucklehead as such even if it was initially dubbed as the "61 OHV" back then; it's that I am not going to add those discrepancies yet unless if a review or two from a reputable source, let's say Hot Bike or any notable source who knows their thing or two around Harleys would point those out.
