  • This article is new enough and long enough. The article is neutral and I detected no copyright issues. A QPQ has been done. The problem is with the hook which tries to include too much information, plus the fact that he did not appear as Beckmesser 196 times. Would ALT1 be an acceptable substitute? Cwmhiraeth (talk) 09:17, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I thought the comma took care of the number. If only we could just say "the legendary Toscanini recording", - that would be concise. ALT1 is a great approach, but "took" sounds a bit as if it was his activity, while it was a great honour to be the one. So trying hookiness, although I dislike to disturb chronology, and importance of roles:
ALT2: ... that Hermann Wiedemann, the Beckmesser in Toscanini's recording of Die Meistersinger, appeared as Faninal in Der Rosenkavalier at the Vienna State Opera 196 times?
  • I think we can approve ALT1 and ALT2. Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:37, 22 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]
