Bias

[edit]

This article is written from an extremely biased perspective. I am not a regular Wikipedia editor so I am not familiar with the procedure for flagging this. Can anyone help me? -Jake

Agree. The State of Israel has persecuted the Bedouins since the installation of the State May 14, 1948. The destruction of the village of Umm al-Hiran in January 18, 2017 is the last evidence. The list of persecutions and destruction of the houses and meaning for life of the Bedouins is very long. Agree. It's like I'm reading a statement on an official governmental website, not a balanced article on Wikipedia. --Nenea hartia (talk) 13:43, 1 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I have reverted these edits. While the edits were clearly made in good faith, I do not quite understand the meaning of what was written. Can the author please explain? —Ynhockey (Talk) 14:08, 4 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The content in this page is outdated. Hura has gone through many positive changes and it's not shown in the contents of the page. The crime rate has changed. Also there is some irrelevant information about the Bedouins in general in the "present day" section, which is not relevant for that section.

This part does not belong in the "present day" section, it's about the bedouins in general and not about Hura:

"Process of sedentarization is full of hardships for any nation, since it means a harsh shift from one way of life to another - transition from wandering to permanent residence, and Bedouins whose society is based on tradition are no exception. The rate of unemployment remains high in Bedouin townships, as well as crime level.[9] School through age 16 is mandatory by law, but the vast majority of the population does not receive a high school education. Women are discriminated in the patriarchal-type Bedouin society.[10] There is another serious problem of trespassing on state lands and building unrecognized Bedouin settlements having no municipal status and facing demolition orders.[11]"

Bias - Still

[edit]

This still reads, as it did 6 years ago, like an Israeli marketing tool. Is someone able to correct this? It is not a topic I know well, but the information even conflicts with other Wikipedia pages about Bedouin townships. 2A10:D582:30A2:0:3987:C0EC:4D14:3E03 (talk) 00:10, 22 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Uqbi

[edit]

The unrecognized Bedouin village of Uqbi is pretty much part of Hura. The Uqbi or 'Uqbi clan is mentioned at

I don't know if historical Uqbis from elsewhere (Arabia, Egypt) are related or not.

The clan/tribe and their settlements, including the one at Hura's S outskirts (see Hura at Google Maps) should get at least a mention here too, and eventually an article. Arminden (talk) 19:08, 6 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
