Racist-Tweet Scandal[edit]

On September 13, 2013, Rodnina caused a stir when she tweeted[1] an unflattering photo of U.S. President Barack Obama, his mouth full of food, as an undentified hand held up a banana in the image's foreground. She said[2] she was practicing her right to free expression, but critics said she was making a racist comment about the African-American president.[3] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 79.182.181.197 (talk) 12:38, 14 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Usually we are not "in the business"(?) of reporting every crap politicians reposted in their blogs and twits, only if the reposts cause stir going out of blogosphere. I think if in a few days we would not find a report of this twitter scandal by a reliable notable secondary sources (e.g. mainstream newspapers, TV-channels, academic publications) we should blank the section per WP:BLP Alex Bakharev (talk) 23:09, 14 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

alex, think again, Mr. Obama is the US. President. what about Putin and his background, worse than an ass?

  • Can you elaborate your suggestions, I am affraid I could not get them Alex Bakharev (talk) 23:41, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Is this mainstream enough? Or you guys are expecting a comment from the White House? http://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/sep/16/russia-obama-banana-racism-debate

Should add a separate section "Controversy" or something like that... — Preceding unsigned comment added by 207.250.96.103 (talk) 14:32, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Seems mainstream enough to me. I have reinsrted the tweet section and added your references. Alex Bakharev (talk) 21:35, 16 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Neither of them are reliable secondary sources as described in WP:RS. BTW, Rodnina has deleted the twit, so the first link is dead Alex Bakharev (talk) 23:41, 15 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
