I've done a fairly major copyedit of the existing text and added a few sentences that I've uncovered from my own reading. The copyedit consisted of mainly: removing lots of 1 and 2 sentence sections, deleting what I felt was trivial info such as names of benefactors etc, removing some POV/unencyclopaedic tone, moving some text blocks around to make it flow better chronologically, tidying up the references and inserting a few in-line citations. These in-line citations need to be increased, but I'll leave that for others to do if they wish.

Feel free to expand and/or revert. A very interesting article. —Moondyne 14:53, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I also removed the alumni section as I personally dislike those, but mainly that I couldn't see anyone listed that was all that notable. I did read somewhere though that Polly Farmer went to Sister Kate's in Parkerville - can anyone confirm that? —Moondyne 15:14, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Quite possible that he did. It might be wise to leave the Alumni out then, but as an aside I'd say that Rob Riley, who went on TV describing incidents at Sister Kate's and then committing suicide was not only a notable, but also the circumstances of that could be because of the Sister Kate's link. Magistrate Sue Gordon, who could be described as 'outspoken' or 'one who speaks sense' is of course an extremely well known figure in WA. Just on Tuesday there were two articles in the West Australian, and not a week goes by without a quote or story where she figures. Then again I could be biased, having worked in the Prosecuting office in Perth Childrens Court myself and gaining a n immense respect for this lady. petedavo 16:37, 12 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
After a rethink, I reckon it should go back, but not as 'alumni' as that implies a college or university rather than a residential home as this is. And Polly did go there [1] BTW. —Moondyne 02:03, 13 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]
