Oppose. That is no reason. If there are socket problems, just semi-protect. And the use of the {{editprotected}} template was incorrect also, BTW. Debresser (talk) 12:56, 5 June 2009 (UTC)

Not 'spelled', 'capitalised'
[edit]The opening sentence begins:
'Koko Taylor sometimes spelled KoKo Taylor'
Both of these spellings are identical. Spelling refers to the sequence of letters used. The difference is not in the spelling but in the position of capital letters.
The correct version would be:
'Koko Taylor sometimes capitalised as KoKo Taylor' —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.181.171.10 (talk) 20:01, 21 March 2011 (UTC)

Inconsistent Dates?
[edit]Ms. Taylor is listed as dying in June 2009, yet the article states she performed with Umphreys McGee on New Years Eve 2009, which would be six months after her death. This reader is confused. 207.250.214.249 (talk) 15:43, 4 July 2016 (UTC)

Year of Grammy win
[edit]Lest we be accused of edit warring, User:Alanscottwalker we should discuss our difference of opinion on this topic. I'm not sure what linked article you are referring to in your most recent edit summary of Taylor's article, but below are my sources to back up the statement that Taylor's Grammy win was in 1985, for the album Blues Explosion:
The WP article Grammy Award for Best Traditional Blues Album shows that album title and Taylor's name (with others) in the 1985 row. The Grammy website entry for Taylor shows multiple nominations. You have to click on the various Awards to see if it is a nomination or a win, but the Grammy website shows that her WIN was from the 27th annual award. The WP article for 27th Annual Grammy Awards states at the top that the ceremony was held in February 1985, for musical accomplishments from the year 1984. I personally find that difference between award ceremony year vs. release year to be confusing, but WP has been consistent about using the year of the ceremony for its various Grammy award articles. OK to revise to 1985? NOLA1982 (talk) 21:46, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thanks, there is a long confusing explanation which has to do with Wang Dang Doodle for which she was recently recognized, but you are right and I was confused and wrong. I reverted myself and I apologize. Alanscottwalker (talk) 22:00, 19 April 2023 (UTC)
- Thank you for the reply. Be well. NOLA1982 (talk) 02:52, 20 April 2023 (UTC)
“Wild At Heart Soundtrack”
[edit]Maybe as a footnote? Maybe just trivial? Koko sings the David Lynch/ Angelo Badalamenti song “Up In Flames”, in the film and on the released soundtrack album. ( Originally covered by Julee Cruise, in a different style.)75.106.32.81 (talk) 20:29, 14 August 2024 (UTC)
