This was flagged as having promo copy and needing cleanup. Since the date was 2013 when that was added and it hadn't been fixed, I'm moving that copy to here to clean up the article. This is for reference in case any of it is salvagable.plange (talk) 02:22, 27 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Paranormal Romance

The Immortals After Dark series

[edit]

In this series, mythical creatures secretly exist alongside humans, most of them immortal. These immortals call their world The Lore.” [1]

The most visible factions to the audience are the Valkyrie, the Lykae, the Vampires, the Demons, the Sorceri, and the Witches. Many other factions (and subsections of these factions) exist, some only mentioned in passing. The IAD books are all stand-alone novels, but the subplot (a Lore-wide war called the Accession, which occurs every 500 years) connects the entire series. Some events occur in multiple books, seen through the eyes of different characters, and events in one book will often be referenced in others. In each installment, readers meet a new couple, always cross-faction and predestined, who must overcome both their individual problems and outside forces who/that might keep them apart. One or both members of each featured couple are introduced or mentioned in previous books. Cole's universe plays on gender roles, often subverting traditional stereotypes.
