ENCOUNTRING??

[edit]

. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 60.246.179.197 (talk) 08:23, 10 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Should not state literally ‘Encountering ’(since first character is literally ‘ Leaving’).
I modified lead paragraph, but don't know how to remove "literally" in the {{Infobox Chinese}}. --Kiyoweap (talk) 17:22, 29 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

The result of the move request was: Moved as proposed. This is a reversion to the long-term status quo.  — Amakuru (talk) 12:20, 12 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The LamentLi Sao – Revert recent move and deletion of redirect page. It appears to have been based on a misunderstanding of WP:TITLE and WP:COMMONNAME. The mover cited the fact that "Li Sao" is not a name in support of a move, but that is irrelevant per the guidelines. The work is not normally cited by its translated title when mentioned in the major reliable sources in English.  White Whirlwind  08:52, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Nope, the above request is a distortion of facts and complete misunderstanding on why the move was made. First, this is an English encyclopedia, and many foreign language sources from Chinese are translated via calques or neologisms rather than directly transliterated by their pinyin; and the translations "Encountering Sorrow" and "The Lament" do appear in the literature as quick google search will confirm. The fact that Li Sao looks like a Chinese name as White Whirlwind points out does not help with White Whirlwind's attempt to increase the count of article names beginning with Li. There is already a Chinese wikipedia. This English wikipedia is written in English.

On another note, White Whirlwind appears to have a conflict of interest or proprietary interest in the article, making many edits to Li / Lee related articles:

Wikipedia is not a place to promote the interests of the Li / Lee or related family. Nor is it a place to engage in this level of nepotism. One wonders whether White Whirlwind has been paid by the Li family to write articles on Li family members.

Also not that it matters, but White Whirlwind has a history of adding massive copyrighted content too. [3] Shiv Veda (talk) 10:11, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I've been editing here for over a decade and thought I'd seen it all.  White Whirlwind  18:24, 15 December 2020 (UTC)[reply]
