Asterix in the table[edit]

Can I ask waht the * means in the current characters table? I've always assumed it means the character has left the show and then come back at a later date, with the episode number givenbeing that of their very first appearance. Today there was just Paul Robinson, Lou, Sky and Janelle with the '*' next to their episode number. If what I assume is true, then Harold and Carmella should also have them and so have added them in. For this and other character list pages I have noticed that whenever I try to add additional info such as maiden names and names from previous marriages someone always edits it back. Any reason for this? Wouldnt want to do anything wrong! Cls14 15:50, 2 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Rosemary Daniels - recurring?[edit]

Links, and articles on minor characters[edit]

Some of the links here point to disambiguation pages or are otherwise bad. I would also argue that there are many worthless stub articles on minor characters. I hope somebody from the relevant WikiProject will look into these issues. --kingboyk 17:35, 1 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Width![edit]

There was something wrong with the "F" section, where Daniel's name is. No idea what it was but somehow I fixed it :) I wanna try and get around to evening out the tables to, looks quite cluttered at the moment. Swanny92 (talk) 13:57, 28 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Eddie Buckingham[edit]

Dan Ramsey[edit]

Added Dan Ramsey, actor Sydney Conabere. Surprised there is no character page considering he appeared in the show for a couple of years. As the character was recurring, I've moved him to the Recurring characters of Neighbours list instead. Moving the article[edit]

With the final episode mere hours away, I didn't see a discussion about what is going to happen to the two character lists. I do not know what will happen to List of Neighbours characters, but I assume that it will get split into sections with tags that lead to the separate two list articles; this one and the recurring list. In my edits I felt that this article provided the framework for which the most recent characters can be placed into, as departing regulars always are, so redirected the present cast list to here (along with changing the title of this article). I notice the other list has been made into a list of the final cast. I'm not sure how necessary this is - it is something that could be found in the final episode article. Titling[edit]

Per the above and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/List of Neighbours characters, the question that remains is the titles that the two character list articles should be under. Currently they are List of regular Neighbours characters - moved from "List of former Neighbours characters" after the show ended, with the final content of the present character list at List of Neighbours characters merged in - and Recurring characters of Neighbours. I can't find a direct equivalent situation, as the List of Brookside characters and List of Crossroads characters are both the only character lists for their respective soaps. Personally, having not noted the nomenclature of the recurring characters article previously, I favour moving this article to Regular characters of Neighbours to match. Considering there are two character list articles, I don't think having an article under List of Neighbours characters alone is beneficial now the show has ended. Alright, whether we want to discuss it or not, we all know that there'll need to be some changes to these pages. Durations for 2023 returning characters[edit]

@Livelikemusic: Please stop your disruptive edits. Mackenzie, Leo, Terese and Jane are not former characters anymore. Their stints have been confirmed to drag on into 2023. In soap operas, we follow the convention that if there is less than a year's gap between each appearance, we continue the duration year in the infobox. Your edits have been contrasting to this "rule" that we tend to follow, so please stop. It is not WP:CRYSTAL either, as you claim so, as it has been confirmed by multiple reliable sources. @Therealscorp1an: They are not disruptive. WP:CRYSTAL applies as there is no definitive return date for the series—Wikipedia is not a crystalball; yes, their return is announced and the target is late 2023, but that is not a definitive date of happening. Not to mention, YYYY– is in violation of MOS:DATETOPRES which states it should be YYYY–present. And I am aware of the one-calendar year rule, as I was part of the original discussion on the year-merge. Removing the cap-off is the violation of WP:CRYSTAL, not the merging of 2022 and 2023, which seems to be what you believe I am doing. Adding "–present" is the violation of WP:CRYSTAL as the series is not airing, ttherefore, the characters are not presently present, with no definitive return date for their appearances. And, 2023 IS the present tense, so any listing of 2023–present is redundant and wrong. Per WP:CRYSTAL, it states: Dates are not definite until the event actually takes place, as even otherwise-notable events can be cancelled or postponed at the last minute by a major incident, and, as of yet, we do not know the date, and there is always the potential of pushback from Amazon Freevee. Neighbours has never really used "–present" (which I merely respected in this instance), but that is not the issue here. Except, it is the issue, because that is what's also being tagged in edit summaries. MOS is always to be followed. We cannot ignore what Wikipedia requires of us. And as I've stated before, "late 2023" is not definitive. It can change. Until it states "MM–DD–YYYY" then it is up for speculation and is in-question of WP:CRYSTAL. Not to mention, per the template data on {{Infobox soap character}}, it states Years the character, not the actor, has appeared, and none of the characters are presently appearing, as the series is not actively airing new episodes. I think it is incorrect to change the durations since Neighbours is not currently in production. This is why I have not changed any of the durations. This is a rare instance as the soap operas are normally in production. Once the actor films and an episode is created it is fair game since someone is likely to have viewed the episode and it exists regardless if it has been broadcast. I can understand why WP:CRYSTAL is applied since a major event could occur or a production change could happen and their return may not happen at all.Rain the 1 08:02, 1 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I am perfectly happy to keep durations closed off at 2022 until production starts, per the WP:CRYSTAL argument. This is a specific and unusual situation that livelikemusic has interpreted in a certain way, and certainly required discussion rather than repeated reversions - as I pointed out in my edit summary at Mackenzie Hargreaves. The characters concerned should, however, be listed as Former; regular (returning) in the classification field and their last episodes to date should be removed. Does that sound acceptable? Hey, I hope you do not mind that I put these 3 sections together - I thought it would be easier to merge them and reply here. Those 5 cast members only appeared as recurring or guest characters and thus they do not appear on this list as this is for regular characters only.
