Issues[edit]

This list has a lot of problems, there are no citations and no way to determine how notable these snipers are. They all appear to have articles but many snipers are missing from this list, the list of just notable military snipers on the article sniper is longer than this one, possibly it should be moved here or the list should be merged back into the article. At the very least this list should be broken out into time periods and/or military and non-military snipers and referenced.--Doug.(talk contribs) 16:13, 26 July 2013 (UTC)

Fixed, feel free to add more with appropriate sources.--Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 00:17, 30 July 2014 (UTC)

Why is the ordering so strange? It seems the countries with snipers of renown are listed far below those with more mediocre ones. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.212.162.132 (talk) 20:44, 22 May 2015 (UTC)

Real snipers only[edit]

Erwin König should be removed from this article, it should be limited to real people only, not fictitious characters.Royalcourtier (talk) 23:28, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Musa the Sniper[edit]

There's been a few attempts to add "Musa the Sniper" and I've copy editted for format of the page - short comment, single country. Going back and forward on the amount of detail that's right for the page. The ref I saw had the name of the sniper as 'Herval Hardem' (http://uk.businessinsider.com/meet-musa-the-sniper-scourge-of-isis-in-kobani-2015-10?r=US&IR=T). Not entirely convinced from the sources of the confirmed number of kills made so added 'allegedly'. We've had previous sniper claims made from the Middle East and often they appear as propaganda stories, may need to review refs further to ensure notability.
