When he becomes Cardinal

[edit]

He's among the 14 new Cardinals being created June 29. He will be a Cardinal patriarch and will not be assigned a Rome titular church; he is to be Cardinal Patriarch of his existing see. I suggest putting the word "Cardinal" in front of the existing title with no comma after it; click-on could be handled like this (as far as I know, it has not been done for other Cardinal Patriarchs): "Cardinal Patriarch" could point to the subheader of that name in the Cardinal (Catholicism) article; "of" would not be part of the see's click-on unless "emeritus" precedes it; the see name would point to that see even though that click-on would now exclude "Patriarch of".

I am new w/r to having a Wikipedia account, although I made numerous edits with no log-on.

This is different from my then-anonymous remarks elsewhere about Cardinal Archbishop (I edited "Cardinal" and "Archbishop of ______" as separate click-ons, with comma between them); such a Cardinal would be a cardinal priest, the usual practice when he has a diocesan title outside the Roman province.

I'll try to go to talk page for Cardinal (Catholicism) and cross reference to the above. Carlm0404 (talk) 16:50, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

See Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir and Antonios Naguib. This has been handled before. Bmclaughlin9 (talk) 17:15, 22 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Oops, That Cardinal page is now Cardinal (Catholic Church). And, OK, for this new Cardinal Patriarch, you could just prefix the word Cardinal, no comma, and with its separate link.
