Florida

[edit]

Supposedly, Anna Maria Island, Florida was named by Ponce de Leon after the sponsor of his expedition "the queen of Charles II." I can't seem to confirm this link however. Student7 (talk) 20:34, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Mariana of NeuburgMaria Anna of Neuburg – The name was changed by an editor who was blocked for moving pages to suit his point of view; the former name, Maria Anna, is much more common in English language literature than Mariana. Besides, the Queen of Castile is obviously the primary meaning of "Maria Anna of Neuburg". Surtsicna (talk) 15:08, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Poorly Written

[edit]

This page contains no citations and only one working external link. The article itself is very informal and does not seem to fit with the tone of an encyclopedia. I don't know very much about the topic of the article so I don't feel comfortable editing it for accuracy. I could try to edit what is in the article into more formal language, but I'd rather hear other opinions before I go through and make any changes. 144.89.85.230 (talk) 04:04, 29 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This has now been corrected :).
