Current Rank - See Below

[edit]

Mitakeumi's infobox has this... is there a precedent that other sumo articles should have this instead of the current rank? JRHorse (talk) 01:27, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

JRHorse This was a decision taken many years ago at WikiProject Sumo that with relatively few participants, it was too laborious to update the infobox every time a rikishi's rank changed, when the information was already present in the tournament table. So a link to the table was created instead. You'll see it in every active rikishi's article.-- P-K3 (talk) 15:17, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Ok, thanks for confirming. I think some of the other rikishi articles are not conforming to this so I’d be happy to help check when I have the time, unless someone else gets to it first. JRHorse (talk) 16:42, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Sure. It should obviously be removed when rikishi retire, and it's not necessary for yokozuna or ozeki as they rarely change (or not so rarely in the case of this year's crop of injured ozeki.)-- P-K3 (talk) 17:00, 5 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]
