terminology used change request

subject: "Turkish domination" terminology in this article is wrong

Dear Sir,

I have noticed some errors in the article. In the article "Turkish domination" is used but it is wrong. The term "domination" is vague. and the term turkish is also vague in term of which cultural and ethnic community that it is pointing out. The pasha term in the time of ottoman empire was meaning commander of the army. It should be replaced by "sultan" which meaning is same as "king" or "emperor". The whole term "Turkish domination" should be replaced with "Ottoman Empire". Ottoman empire is not a "turkish" empire. In the ottoman empire population were not calling themselves as "turks". "Turk" became after 1923 a term defining a cultural community but it was still not defining an ethnic group. "Village was officially relocated" ...

[edit]

The sentence " The village of Mocha was officially relocated 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) west along the Red Sea shore to accommodate the building and demolition of several coastal highways." is vague, a coastal road goes along the coast, so how can several do this? And the fact that it talks of both building and destruction of these roads is confusing. It also sounds like an infrastructure planning disaster and the destruction of a historical site, more information is needed! 212.64.14.89 (talk) 20:53, 18 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Mocha, YemenMokha – The alternative name "Mokha" is both a better transliteration, the خ in Arabic script is Romanized by default as 'kh', and well sourced, and so is a viable form of natural disambiguation. In a control group of scholarly hits from 2022, Mokha had 29 hits to 39 hits for Mocha (I filtered out the term "coffee" from the search to avoid references to the beverage or beans) - so the usage is fairly comparable, but while Mocha requires disambiguation, Mokha, which already redirects here, actively disambiguates. @Graham87 There is already a disambiguition page already linked in the article; these other articles should be added there Abo Yemen 10:11, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@Abo Yemen: That disambiguation page is for Mocha, not Mokha. Also, please do not use condescending automated edit summaries when dealing with experienced editors (i.e. don't template the regulars). Graham87 (talk) 10:53, 1 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We can make a disambiguation page for mokha instead of linking many articles here + sorry for templating you Abo Yemen 08:06, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
There are only two other articles that would be appropriate for disambiguation, which isn't really enough. I've compacted the footnote. Apology accepted re the edit summary. Graham87 (talk) 14:59, 2 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
