What is said about the family there seems quite wrong. Her father Walter Clarmont Skrine was from Somerset: see s:Alumni Oxonienses: the Members of the University of Oxford, 1715-1886/Skrine, Walker Clarmont and [1]. The identification of Skrine with a governor of Mauritius is a troubling piece of misinformation in the literature. The ODNB says so, but I have written to them suggesting this is muddled, because Agnes Skrine, Molly's mother, had James Macaulay Higginson as maternal grandfather, as far as I can see.
