Notability
[edit]As it is about a "recently dead" person, I think that BLP1E may, in fact, apply. Other opinions? Collect (talk) 16:34, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- I think so also, Is it a notable murder? If not then AFD is perhaps the best route. Youreallycan (talk) 16:48, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- If it is deleted, a search (by the family for instance) will turn up "Did you mean to search for anus bidet". That should be seen as a BLP issue also. I actually think the police response in flying out to India is significant enough to keep it, but I can understand how others might differ. Dougweller (talk) 19:24, 3 January 2012 (UTC)
- I would have no objection to keeping what we have got to avoid that search result - at least in the short - ish term. - Youreallycan (talk) 19:35, 3 January 2012 (UTC)

Why is this a 'notable murder'? Murders happen all the time in the United Kingdom, yet his death was regrettable, most murders are, but other than that it's not really noteworthy Vtr1781249 (talk) 11:23, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
- The manner of death and the international coverage it received are two fairly good reasons. Maybe you should try reading the article? Paul MacDermott (talk) 11:57, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
The reason why I'm commenting, is because I read the article, neither of your reasons fully answer my question. Should a new page be opened for all murders in the UK and the rest of the world? Cold blooded murders are not unusual, even in Manchester, and a majority of UK murders receive international coverage, especially when they concern non-British persons killed while visiting the country Vtr1781249 (talk) 12:42, 5 August 2012 (UTC)
- Actually that's not quite the case. While the murder of a non-UK national is likely to attract international attantion, particularly from their country of residence, the majority of murders committed in this country don't receive international coverage. In fact, many barely get more than a few column inches. This stands out because of the attention it received, and because, as you correctly point out, even though innercity shootings are not uncommon, this kind of execution-style and motiveless killing thankfully is. If you feel strongly that this article shouldn't be here then you're welcome to submit it to Articles for Deletion for a wider discussion, but you'll need to familiarise yourself with the guidelines of WP:CRIME and one or two others first. Imbalanced article
[edit]dougweller seems to be up to his usual agenda. he added an imbalanced
- The family said that they have "complete trust and confidence in Greater Manchester Police".
...when the reality is that everyone (all newspaper, television, radio media) in india have been calling it a racist act and there really aren't any positive words for anything british right now. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 216.66.81.36 (talk) 05:29, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- You're obviously a sock. I wrote this in a hurry after someone wrote the foundation saying that a search on Wikipedia for this poor man turned up a rude phrase, and I wanted to avoid upset to the family. That was my agenda and if you don't like it you can lump it. I've just added a bit more, which you could have done. Don't just add tags without bothering to work on an article. Dougweller (talk) 06:03, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- Articles are based on reliable sources, not opinions from anyone who notices the page. No reason has been given, and no evidence has been presented, for why a tag should be added to the article. If more material is available (with proper sources), please discuss it. Johnuniq (talk) 06:04, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks. I'll add that this poor guy was murdered, lives of his friends and family irreparably damaged, and yet rather than spend the time needed to constructively work on the article (which includes finding references and adding them), this sock is using it as a platform to make some sort of point. That's really disgusting. Dougweller (talk) 06:15, 5 January 2012 (UTC)
Murder of . . .
[edit]Shouldn't we move this to "Murder of Anuj Bidve" since there has now been a murder conviction? Paul MacDermott (talk) 20:13, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
- That's fine by me, as the one who moved this away from "murder" before conviction. Phil Bridger (talk) 20:21, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
- ok, I've moved it again (after a slight drama). Paul MacDermott (talk) 20:25, 26 July 2012 (UTC)
