Treatment of citation

[edit]

I came across the following fragmented quote in the article: '‘the sixty six year golden era of WE Bold and than Mc I Green” the Town Clerks In editing this, as seemed necessary, I took the abnormal liberty of dispensing with the quotation marks in order to justify fixing the typographic errors to make it read "the sixty-six-year golden era of [town clerks] W. E. Bold and W. A. McInnes Green which ended in 1965." Part of my reason for doing this was that William Ernest Bold (1873-1953) and William Allan McInnes Green (1896-1972) are the subjects of biographical articles here and here, and both obviously notable candidates for inclusion in Wikipedia. Naming them properly is a first step to creating those new articles. Cheers, Bjenks (talk) 08:08, 16 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Both W. E. Bold and Allan Green (after whom the Conservatory is named) merit articles. They both received ample secondary coverage in newspapers of the day. Orderinchaos 04:10, 19 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
