huge amounts of promo text added, stuff added that isn't in the sources[edit]

I propose taking this back several weeks, as the promotional information that has been added is not in any of the sources cited. --valereee (talk) 03:49, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

For now I've tagged it, will be back, in the meantime anyone who wants to clean this up please have at it. --valereee (talk) 03:57, 7 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Menu[edit]

Why does this section list twice the Sandwich Combo as one of the six combos? Besides, are detailed descriptions of menu items really what should be in an encyclopedic article? --FideKoeln (talk) 09:25, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

FideKoeln, agreed, unsourced overdetailed info and redundant content removed. —valereee (talk) 12:40, 23 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

COI Edit Request[edit]

  • Specific text to be added or removed: Not sure how it would be worded, something along the lines of Raising Cane's suing a mall in Indiana over the fact that they weren't told they couldn't sell chicken fingers
  • Reason for the change: This seems like a pretty notable event since I'm finding several news sources covering it And would be a good line for a DYK if this article ever gets up to GA

removing paid editing[edit]

Hey, @Blaze Wolf, I think it's worth other editors seeing that this company has paid for editing, even if a particular editor has been blocked. Valereee (talk) 16:47, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, however I'm unable to verify that they actually did disclose that they were paid since the diff is invalid. If you can see it and confirm that they did disclose it then I'll add it back since I couldn't tell if it was just a troll that added it to be funny or something else. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 16:51, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Well, FWIW, I definitely do think the article has had a TON of UPE. Someone used to come in every time they opened another store to update the numbers. I spend a ridiculous amount of time on this stupid article. :D Valereee (talk) 17:04, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Ah fair enough. I'm an employee at one of their restaurants (though I'm not paid to edit, I looked through the entirety of the employee manual and it didn't mention anything relating to this so I'm simply doing it because I want to and not for money). The article does need some work altho it'll take a lot of editing. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 17:31, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for disclosing, and for not editing directly. Valereee (talk) 17:48, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
NO problem. I will really only edit directly if the change is obviously uncontroversial (such as punctuation) or if I feel I can word what I"m wanting to add in a neutral way. I always try to be as transparent and neutral as I can. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:33, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

COI Edit Request[edit]

  • What I think should be changed: Something relating to Raising Cane's settling a lawsuit and withdrawing a planned location due to traffic concerns
  • Why it should be changed: Not sure if it should be added, however the source I found goes pretty in-depth on the event.
  • References supporting the possible change (format using the "cite" button): [1]

Hey, @Blaze Wolf, can't get to the source, it's behind a paywall. What in particular does it say that you think should be added? Valereee (talk) 19:21, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Valereee: Wait it's paywalled? I was able to access it just fine. Hmm... have you tried viewing it through internet archive? ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:31, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The headline is "Raising Cane’s settles suit, withdraws from planned Brea location near school" and the first sentence is "A popular fast-food chicken chain won’t be roosting in Brea, after all, following a legal challenge from concerned residents." The Los Angeles Times rations free articles on a monthly basis. When a reader hits the limit, they then hit a paywall. Cullen328 (talk) 19:40, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Cullen328: Ohhhhh that makes sense now. I was confused as to what Valereee meant when they said it was paywalled cause it gave no indication to me that it was paywalled. ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 19:43, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Other California newspapers with similar restrictions include the San Jose Mercury News, the Sacramento Bee and the San Francisco Chronicle. I never read routine news on those sites, only highly unusual articles. Cullen328 (talk) 19:50, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Blaze Wolf I'm not sure how notable this is to feature in the article. Chain restaurants frequently have issues/controversies with planning new locations, and I would consider this more run-of-the-mill local news, given that there are 600+ store locations, and not worth putting here. Would you be okay if I closed the request or would you prefer someone else review the request? SpencerT•C 05:25, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Spencer: Nope that's fine! ― Blaze WolfTalkBlaze Wolf#6545 14:13, 4 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

B-minus or C-minus[edit]

The source that is there (Sayre, Alan (June 12, 2007). "Finger joint beat the odds on fish turf". Atlanta Journal-Constitution. p. D3. Archived from the original on October 27, 2021. Retrieved April 18, 2020.) says C-minus.

Anomeister, do you have any source to back up your claim that it was actually B-minus? If so, what is it? If not, it cannot go on Wikipedia; see Wikipedia:No original research and Wikipedia:Verifiability#Responsibility_for_providing_citations.

Anomeister, yes, we do need you to prove it, via inclusion of a reliable source. Valereee (talk) 13:07, 13 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
