A short mention could be added about his high school career - and coincidental association with the basketball player Jason Williams in High School. Jason Williams (who won an NBA championship with the Miami Heat) was Randy Moss' 8th and 9th grade quarterback. Basketball[edit]

Any thought on including his short-lived stint as a basketball player? I can't recall which team, or which league he tried out for, but I do remember him playing in a game or two in the past 5 years.

Yeah, I came on here in a vain attempt to prove he played for an independent team, I think the Atlantic City Surf.

Just Finished Re-Organising Content[edit]

I just finished re-organising some of the content on this page. I basically added a controversy section. There are still things to be done however... For instance, a lot more could be added to what he has done on the field aside from his controversies.

Packers and Moss[edit]

What do you think about including the information on the 2007 possible trade to the Packers that did not happen, and Brett Favre's subsequent comments? I can see that this article is first and foremost about Moss and not Green Bay, but I think those quotes show Moss's standing with the rest of the league, even after his relatively unproductive years in Oakland. No it's not supposed to be there, this article is about RANDY MOSS, not the Green Bay Packers. you've got to be kidding c'mon And by the way if it's being discussed on the talk page it shouldn't be in the article in the first place!! You could put it in the Green Bay Packers article if you want, it doesn't belong here.

The reference is about Moss, and Favre's reaction to the Packers non-trade shows that even after pseudo-mooning the Green Bay crowd and having a subpar year in Oakland, one of the NFL's most respected quarterbacks still wanted to play with him. Snowfire51 02:49, 11 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I rewrote the paragraph to take out some of the Packers info, and make it more about Moss and the respect Favre had for his skills. However, I see you've already thrown out the edit before discussing it. Please discuss things on an article's talk pages civilly before throwing out other peoples work. Thanks! So you admit you don't know, and you have no idea either, then why are you posting stuff such as "moss would've restructured to play for the Pack". I didn't hear a single credible source say this, Pack are not a superbowl contender in the first place. You wrote this:

His interception[edit]

Please add that on October 11th against the Denver Broncos, Randy Moss got his first career interception off of Kyle Orton. Under the lack of effort section, please get rid of the sentence that says:

Moss made similar comments during his tenure with the Vikings, when he infamously proclaimed, "I play when I want to play"

The "I play when I want to play" quote is nothing similar to the quote it is being compared to:

"I might want to look forward to moving somewhere else next year to have another start and really feel good about going out here and playing football."

These quotes have nothing in common. "I play when I want to play" refers to him being the only one that gets himself pumped up for games, not effort or happiness with his situation.

Trade to Minnesota[edit]

The trade has not been confirmed by either team, Randy Moss is still a member of the New England Patriots, until said confirmation is brought forth by the Patriots and Vikings. First of all, that article is from this morning, hours before the waiver was sent out. Second of all, after July 4 and before the season ends, you can't just release a player without placing him on waivers. It's now becoming increasingly clear that Childress acted alone in "cutting" Moss, though he has no formal authority to make actual roster moves. If you would keep apprised of the situation, you'd have read articles like these:

This is incorrect, Randy Moss has not yet been waived by the Minnesota Vikings and is still on the Vikings' roster. I've removed this unsourced statement based on my own OR. At least 2 WRs (Larry Fitzgerald and Calvin Johnson) have since seen larger contracts. Stats from the NFL Combine[edit]

The page gives his vertical in the 1998 NFL combine as 47 inches, based on an article that doesn't provide any citation, but the NFL combine results website says it was only 33 inches: https://nflcombineresults.com/playerpage.php?f=Randy&l=Moss&i=27002.
