Untitled section[edit]

Has anyone ever noticed that Rebecca, in the original version of RE1, has an appearance that could've been drawn from that of the character Barbara in the remake of Night of the Living Dead (which RE1 makes several references to, a less-than-obvious one being a shot of a balcony)?

† Once and for all: Is Rebecca alive or dead?

Whereabouts unknown. We don't know if she is dead or alive. I'd say alive though, if the other STARS left Raccoon she surely went with them. Parjay 14:20, 30 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Lynn Harris: Real or Fake[edit]

An anonymous editor recently added Lynn Harris as the voice actress that portrayed Rebecca Chambers in the original Resident Evil and cites IMDB as its source. However, as far as I know, no actors are officially credited in the original Resident Evil other than the live-action actors who are credited by their first names only. Anyone care to cite an official source (from Capcom or a voice acting agency). Jonny2x4 06:46, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Check out Lynn Harris (IV). She voiced Chamber's character in the 1996 English version of the RE --ShadowJester07 07:08, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes Lynn Harris voiced and protrayed 'Becca in the original versions of RE. Parjay 12:49, 25 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
I needed something more concrete than IMDB. Thankfully a random Google search led me to a Japanese Gaijin Tarento site. Yes, the voice is unmistakable. I'm a believer, now. [1] Jonny2x4 05:08, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well it's about time, to be honest. Also, a simple google image search for her will show you a decade older Rebecca. Parjay 12:18, 29 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, according to Residentevilfan.com, the voice actress of Rebecca in Resident Evil 0 is an actress named Riva Di Paola.-http://www.residentevilfan.com/actors/actors.asp?p=39 shouldn't this be added to Rebecca's page? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.71.56.160 (talk) 04:47, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

residentevilfan.com is not a reliable source... then again, IMDB.com is probably worse. O_o --ShadowJester07Talk 05:20, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
what is the problem with imdb?  Doktor  Wilhelm  05:43, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The fact that anyone can edit it. It would be the equivalent of using a Wikipeida article to cite another Wikipedia article. Back in the summer, a bunch of people kept adding cast data to IMDB's article for RE5 - leading many gullible people to believe that Capcom had assembled an all-star group of voice actors.[2] --ShadowJester07Talk 05:48, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, I didn't know IMDB was a user generated site, but now that I think about it!  Doktor  Wilhelm  16:33, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, but residentevilfan.com is one of the most reliable RE sites out there, and besides, her resume also confirms it- http://voice123.com/rivadipaola —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.71.56.160 (talk) 03:25, 14 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Riva DiPaola is credited in the actual game too. Jonny2x4 (talk) 07:23, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

If you check here, you will see that "Barry Burton and Rebecca Chambers to be included in Resident Evil 5 DLC". Sincerely, --A NobodyMy talk 16:39, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mentioning what she is on the cover of[edit]

They are promoting an aspect of the game. Not only is it OR to say that the game is promoting Rebecca, when it is merely giving a visual demonstration of the character you will be playing as, but it's laughable that you said it's promotional because she's an attractive female. You've basically declared what Capcom was thinking when they put her on a cover of a video game. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 21:18, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You mean marketing people don't always put someone who is physically attractive on the cover of their product? Do you have a case of this NOT happening? Dream Focus 21:21, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Isn't the cover of something called promotional art? The box cover is done to promote what's inside. Make it look appealing to the customer. Anyway, we should stick that information somewhere in the article. Dream Focus 22:09, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
It promotes the game, not the characters. To say she is the protagonist of RE0 is sufficient. - The New Age Retro Hippie used Ruler! Now, he can figure out the length of things easily. 20:11, 5 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

– Clearly theres no other known "Rebecca Chambers" but a Resident Evil character. So I think it should be primary topic. BloatedBun (talk) 09:31, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Comment there is a Rebecca Chambers (pianist) which is on Wikipedia for 12 years and counting. I believe that this should be the primary topic by having a look at the length of the articles. And "Disambiguation" should not be capitalised either if the base name gets moved to your suggested title. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 10:40, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
The pianist isn't actually best known as Rebecca Chambers. Just because the article has been created for 12 years doesn't mean it should be the primary topic. If we search on Google for "Rebecca Chambers", a fictional character always comes first and has more page veiws. Anyway, you're right that the disambiguation title name should be lower case and will be like "(disambiguation)" instead. BloatedBun (talk) 11:21, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Probably should have specified: the fictional character is what I was talking about re the primary topic. Iggy (Swan) (Contribs) 21:57, 14 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Rate Attribute Review Comment
1. Well-written:
1a. the prose is clear, concise, and understandable to an appropriately broad audience; spelling and grammar are correct.
  • credited as "Linda", and voiced – no comma before and
  • who also served as Capcom's official spokeswoman for the game in Japan and voiced by Canadian actress, Riva Di Paola – add a comma after Japan and remove the comma before Riva
  • Her design were also adjusted when she lost her – either design is supposed to be plural or were is supposed to be changed to was
  • pairs her with fellow STARS Bravo team member – put periods around the letters in STARS
  • English actress, Erin Cahill and Japanese actress, Ami Koshimizu – the commas before there names are not needed
  • She has become a professor teaching at a – put In the play at the beginning of the sentence and remove has and replace became with is
  • Edge listed Rebecca, as "strong, – remove comma before as
  • She was included among the 112 most important female characters in games by Thilo Bayer of PC Games Hardware – it sounds like the 112 games includes games that are only made by Thilo Bayer of PC Games Hardware
  • Matt Cundy of GamesRadar – GamesRadar+
1b. it complies with the Manual of Style guidelines for lead sections, layout, words to watch, fiction, and list incorporation.
  • In the original Resident Evil, Rebecca was portrayed – change to is portrayed
  • PlayStation Official Magazine, has claimed that – claimed is a word to watch and it makes it sound like the writer is incorrect in what they say (also you don't need has).
  • females in the Resident Evil franchise, claiming that – same thing here
  • sixth best character in the series, claiming that – yet again
  • Brittany Vincent of SyFy claimed that Rebecca – this one too
  • least favorite female character in the series, claiming that – ditto (I'm running out of ways to say this)
2. Verifiable with no original research:
2a. it contains a list of all references (sources of information), presented in accordance with the layout style guideline.
  • In ref 16 avoid all caps per MOS:ALLCAPS
  • Change GamesRadar to GamesRadar+
2b. reliable sources are cited inline. All content that could reasonably be challenged, except for plot summaries and that which summarizes cited content elsewhere in the article, must be cited no later than the end of the paragraph (or line if the content is not in prose).
  • Accoding to reliable source notice board Mobygames is not a reliable source
  • Resident Evil Database does not look like a reliable source unless its a primary website
  • What makes Playstation Universe, Digital News Asia, PC Games Hardware, and GameZone reliable
Removed all of them except GameZone, it is 100percent reliable. It has been used in multiple GA articles. BloatedBun (talk) 11:40, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
2c. it contains no original research.
  • Spotchecks for refs 4, 12, 20, 29, 34, 38, 39, 40, 44, and 46 are all good
2d. it contains no copyright violations or plagiarism.
  • This isn't necessary, but I would consider trimming some of the quotes
  • The copyvio detector only picks up a 37.9% violation possibility
3. Broad in its coverage:
3a. it addresses the main aspects of the topic.
3b. it stays focused on the topic without going into unnecessary detail (see summary style).
4. Neutral: it represents viewpoints fairly and without editorial bias, giving due weight to each.
5. Stable: it does not change significantly from day to day because of an ongoing edit war or content dispute.
6. Illustrated, if possible, by media such as images, video, or audio:
6a. media are tagged with their copyright statuses, and valid non-free use rationales are provided for non-free content.
6b. media are relevant to the topic, and have suitable captions.
7. Overall assessment.
Kaleeb18 I believed I've addressed all your concerns. "GameZone" is for sure reliable and has been used on multiple GA articles. BloatedBun (talk) 11:58, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Yes GameZone is a reliable source after doing more research. ― Kaleeb18TalkCaleb 17:23, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the review. Thanks. A related GA nominee article is Ada Wong. BloatedBun (talk) 21:38, 6 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
