She was in effect only the titular Crown Princess of Austria, Hungary and Bohemia, since the titles of nobility were abolished in these countries and law forbids their usage.
Is Wikipedia bound by the laws of Austria? Of course it is not bound by any law. Otherwise, Wikipedia would not be able to mention any criticism of (for example) the King or Queen of Thailand, thanks to lèse majesté, nor any criticism of Ali Khamenei, thanks to the Blasphemy law in Iran. Anyway, I believe the article should now be moved to Princess Regina of Saxe-Meiningen in order to be consistent with articles about other princesses but there is nothing wrong with referring to her as Archduchess Regina because that's how English language sources refer to her. I don't believe that the laws of Austria forbid other people from calling Regina "Crown Princess of Austria". I think it is more in terms of the person's own legal identity IN Austria. By the way, photos from Regina lying in state show a photograph off to the side with the caption Erzherzogin Regina. I think the article now should be titled Princess Regina of Saxe-Meiningen as well. Seven Letters00:38, 9 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Support While I wish that we could avoid looking as though we are acting in callous and indecorous haste, having the patience to wait discreetly until she is re-united in death with her consort (who was too infirm too attend her funeral) and, as expected, disinterred from her temporary resting place with her Saxon ancestors, and re-entombed with him in the Kaisergruft along with the other heads of the House of Habsburg and their consorts, but I realize that eager-beavers would either try to move or come to challenge the location of her article. So we might as well comply with usual WP practice now. FactStraight (talk) 16:09, 13 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
