Ryunosuke Kamiki wants his Wikipedia to change his picture.

[edit]

While reviewing his Wikipedia page in his youtube channel, he has expressed his wish that, he would be happy if wikipedia would kindly change his picture, if not to other one's than to his official Amuse picture. @Plumikii: Please read the messages left on your talk page in October and November. [3][4] So many users haven't noticed the explanatory replies and the two photo changing methods left on Twitter and YouTube since September. Please read the comments left by nanpyn under this community post. [5] Please also read the comments left by nanpyn under this official tweet. [6] For your reference, I also summarized the main points in another post below. Nanpyn (talk) 11:55, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Summary of what photos can be used on Wikipedia

[edit]

@Plumikii: The reasons for using CC images instead of official COPYRITED photos on Wikipedia:
Dear all, an official profile photo does NOT mean that it can be used for any purpose. Please stop misusing a COPYRIGHTED photo.
Actually, official profile photos have been authorized ONLY for promotional uses in the mass media even though Mr. KAMIKI said that he wanted his Wikipedia photo to be changed into his official profile photo.
Wikipedia is NOT part of the mass media BUT a truly free encyclopedia, which should follow the Creative Commons license.
For other purposes, such as changing Mr. KAMIKI's photo on Wikipedia, the following are the two ways that can show respect for the author's rights.
1. Asking for permission from the true author(s) and sending authorization to Wikipedia's Commons:OTRS via e-mail. Note that authorization should be granted by both the photographer (URATA Daisaku) and the agency (AMUSE).
2. Making one or some Amuse's CC photo albums on Flickr and to upload photos there, following the Creative Commons license. In this way, users can reupload the CC photos and add sufficient captions to Wikipedia Commons.
In addition, if the authors(s) are allowed to took photos of Mr. KAMIKI during a designated photo session in a public event and their photo albums on Flickr follow the Creative Commons license, these photos can be legally shared in the same way on Wikipedia.
I have sent a proposal to Mr. KAMIKI's agency, Amuse, via their online form for reporting copyright problems on 23 September 2020. Let's wait for their response and action within this year, shall we? —Nanpyn (talk) 13:34, 17 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Ryūnosuke KamikiRyunosuke Kamiki – Considering the naming conventions for modern Japanese names, this person's family name is written "Ryunosuke", without a macron, in these professionally written articles:

Searching Google News or Google shows that "Ryunosuke" is at least as common as "Ryūnosuke" or "Ryûnosuke". "Ryunosuke" is also the form professionally used by the person (which the conventions rule we should fall back on if the commonly used spelling is difficult to determine), as shown by its consistent use on his agency's website, on his official merchandise:

And in these international sales catalogues:

17:49, 29 September 2019‎ Debiit talk contribs block‎ 48 bytes +48‎ Debiit moved page Ryunosuke Kamiki to Ryūnosuke Kamiki over redirect thank Tag: New redirect

has no rationale, so I'm not considering it as an implicit !vote. Andrewa (talk) 11:21, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
