Song Jia (born 1980)Song Jia – The other actress has no page. Timmyshin (talk) 09:01, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]

  • Support: The other topic listed on the DAB page is (currently) entirely unsourced and not linked to any article. If that situation changes, this article should not be moved, but in the current situation there is no need for disambiguation.BarrelProof (talk) 18:26, 5 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose User:BarrelProof the situation has changed. User:Timmyshin you do realize that a RM like this could be seen as ageist and anti middle aged people? Just because an Award winning actress of the 1990s is not now as pretty as the young one doesn't mean she should be airbrushed out of history. (I'm joking obviously but there's some truth in it; Wikipedia's bio redlinks are often a denial that the 1960s-1990s ever existed). Anyway, this should move to Song Jia (actress, born 1980). • Are you going to make a page for the old actress? The truth is, the influence of Chinese entertainment in the 1960s-1990s cannot compare to what it is today, both domestically and internationally, due to economical development. I think the younger actress is primary regardless, unless you can convince people otherwise. Timmyshin (talk) 00:49, 6 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
  • I definitely won't withdraw the proposal, and I'm rather disappointed that you changed your opinion. Quoting user:BD2412 in another 2-topic discussion: "per WP:TWODABS... Please avoid making two-link disambiguation pages unless there is a clear absence of a primary topic." The younger actress is clearly primary with respect to usage, and since both are actresses from the same country, usage/popularity should be the only factor determining WP:PRIMARYTOPIC: "A topic is primary for a term, with respect to usage, if it is highly likely—much more likely than any other topic, and more likely than all the other topics combined—to be the topic sought when a reader searches for that term.". Moreover, despite the older actress page and multiple redirects being created, it is still pretty much an orphan, see [1]. And since "award-winning" is being mentioned, the younger actress has won a lot more awards than the older actress, and is one of the few in China who have won "Best Actress" for both film and television. Timmyshin (talk) 08:38, 8 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
But the older actress won national awards in an era when awards weren't so common. And the older actress gets more references in books. See WP:RECENT. In ictu oculi (talk) 03:41, 15 September 2014 (UTC)[reply]
