Excuse me but Miura Tamaki spent the last years of her life in the village of Yamanakako, Yamanashi, with her mother. She is buried in the local temple-Jutokuji. The village government re-built her broken down gravestone thanks to the efforts of Mrs Hiroko Goto of Oshino village. Mrs Goto’s uncle was one of Miura Tamaki’s teachers and she met Ms Tamaki at his home in Tokyo when she was 12 years old. She served her pudding! A treat in those days. It was the first time she had ever seen a woman dressed in a dress, heels and hat. We have a ceremony at the gravesite every year on May 26th. (This year, 2024, it will be at 1 pm on the 27th next to Jutokuji. There will be opera singers performing. Bring flowers!
