WorldCat results?

[edit]

The article was recently edited to increase the total number of libraries indicated by WorldCat as holding the book from 10 to 13, but I am seeing no change in the WorldCat results. Is WorldCat returning different results for other users? These are the libraries that are returned when I query WorldCat from a California ZIP code:

1. California State University, Sacramento - Sacramento, CA 95819 United States
2. Bismarck Public Library - Bismarck Veterans Memorial Public Library - Bismarck, ND 58501 United States
3. North Dakota Small Library Group - Bismarck, ND 58505 United States
4. Velva School & Public Library - Velva, ND 58790 United States
5. Valley City State University - Allen Memorial Library - Valley City, ND 58072 United States
6. University of North Dakota - Chester Fritz Library - Grand Forks, ND 58202 United States
7. Xavier University - McDonald Memorial Library - Cincinnati, OH 45207 United States
8. Library of Congress - Washington, DC 20540 United States
9. Zayed University Library - Dubai, United Arab Emirates
10. Ngee Ann Polytechnic Library - Singapore, 599489 Singapore

As of current, the Zayed Univerity Library is no longer listed as having the book, I've updated the count from 13 to 9. 98.162.150.124 (talk) 16:00, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

My most recent query returned 8 results. (I yet wonder whether WorldCat returns different results for different users.) Bookmaven3003 (talk) 03:26, 24 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"originally appeared" dates for strips

[edit]

I removed the "originally appeared" dates for the comic strips because I can't seem to find a source for the dates. However, this information would be interesting for the article, if someone knows where it can be referenced. Bookmaven3003 (talk) 03:26, 24 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Italicization of the title of the book

[edit]

The titles of major works, including comic strips and books, are customarily italicized. However, when contained within the title of another major work, the title of a major work is not italicized separately; the entirety of the title of the work is italicized. Though Calvin and Hobbes on its own as the title of a comic strip is italicized, Calvin and Hobbes is not italicized when it is contained within the title of another major work; the entirety of the title Teaching with Calvin and Hobbes is properly italicized.

Other illustrative examples:

Raise the Titanic! - Though the proper names of ships are italicized on their own, the entirety of the title of the book is italicized.

• Heit's 2012 book Imagination and Meaning in Calvin and Hobbes - A reference in the Calvin and Hobbes article.

• The book Only What's Necessary: Charles M. Schulz and the Art of Peanuts by Kidd and Spear - Another comic strip example. The title of the comic strip, Peanuts, is not italicized separately within the title of the book; the entirety of the title of the book is properly italicized.
