Many of the brands and subsidiaries listed in this article haven't been owned by Thompson for a long time. Others were wikilinked back to Thompson-Reuters, even though they aren't mentioned anywhere on that page. I think I've removed all of those links. I've also added a brief description of current ownership, whenever that information was available on Wikipedia. In cases where a name just vaguely gestured towards the Thompson-Reuters article, that meant I didn't know anything about its current status, I was stumped. I've made a list of all entities with uncertain current status.
Thomson's predatory moves to buy and control as many local newspapers as possible, then to bolster ad revenue while squeezing as many underpaid journalists to work without adequate compensation, are responsible, in part, for the emasculation of Canadian (and other) newspapers. Why wikipedia would have an entry about Thomson Corporation but not Thomson newspapers is beyond me. 64.229.175.109 (talk) 14:53, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
