"Mr. Gregory-Independent"
[edit]The official Dáil transcript up to the 1987 election refers to "Mr Gregory-Independent" (Google "mr Gregory" site:oireachtasdebates.oireachtas.ie intitle:1986). It is not the practice to give the party label, for independents or others; there was no other Gregory in the Dáil from whom Tony needed to be distinguished. My hypothesis is that Gregory officially changed his name to "Gregory-Independent", à la Seán Dublin Bay Rockall Loftus, and changed it back before 1987. jnestorius(talk) 11:05, 22 April 2016 (UTC)
- Also "Tony Gregory-Independent" in the formal proclamations of the results of the elections of Feb 1982 and Nov 1982. jnestorius(talk) 15:11, 26 April 2016 (UTC)
- Source found and cited. jnestorius(talk) 16:51, 12 May 2017 (UTC)

– No indication that the Irish politician of the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s had international renown or otherwise achieved sufficiently long-lasting notability for clear positioning as a WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. — Roman Spinner (talk • contribs) 07:04, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Oppose per WP:PRIMARYTOPIC. The politician gets more than 8x the pageviews of the footballer, while the dab page gets very few views. I see no indication that Anthony Gregory is known as Tony, but even if we include him, the politician is still primary. Station1 (talk) 07:57, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
- Weak oppose. It's hard to really say there's a primary topic here, but the politician does get the "most" views (I put that in quotes so as not to imply it's a lot). So without any overwhelming evidence this setup is a hassle for readers, I can't really support this move. Nohomersryan (talk) 19:08, 26 February 2019 (UTC)
