Talk:Two Point Studios
Ben Hymers as a founder
[edit]I'm a co-founder of the company - understandably the articles covering the founding of the company only mention Gary and Mark though, because I'm currently a bit of a 'nobody'! I understand the Wikipedia etiquette on editing information about yourself is to request a change on the talk page, so that's what I'm doing now - could someone (@Adam9007?) edit this in? For reference, there's the Companies House page (Two Point Studios on Companies House), which shows me as one of the three directors (though I wasn't appointed until September, after the company started, due to my previous employment contract). There's also the LinkedIn company page, which although generated from information I've entered myself (I could make up whatever title I want, I guess), does also show my face in the header image (far left)! (Two Point Studios LinkedIn Page). Thanks! Ben Hymers (talk) 09:50, 7 November 2017 (UTC)
- @Ben Hymers: I've added you as a founder, but I had to use your LinkedIn profile, as the links you gave do not support you being a founder. It's the only source I could find, so don't be surprised if it's challenged, as per WP:SELFPUB and WP:ABOUTSELF, we can't normally use such sources, and we certianly can't rely too heavily on them when we can. - @Adam9007: Thanks very much! It's a strange situation to be in, as I could edit our Twitter/facebook/website/whatever to support this but that's still information coming from me! I'll make sure that our next press release mentions me directly so I have a third party source to rely on! Ben Hymers (talk) 09:25, 10 November 2017 (UTC)
- @Ben Hymers: While a press release is probably better than a social media profile, anything that comes from the company or anyone with a close connexion to it is not third-party. WP:INDEPENDENT ("Independent" and "third-party" are usually treated as synonymous here on Wikipedia, although there is technically a difference between them) explains this better than I could. The ideal kind of sourcing is the article I used to verify Mark Webley and Gary Carr as co-founders: a reliable, independent, third party, and (preferably) secondary source. That you can put whatever you want onto your social media profile is precisely why we must use caution when using such sources, although I think in this case it's okay per the WP:SELFPUB and WP:ABOUTSELF. New company Logo
[edit]I imagine I'm able to do this myself somehow, but can't for the life of me figure it out! The existing logo says "can't be replaced" or something like that on its info page. @Adam9007 could you grab the new logo from the same source as the old one please? Thank you! - @Ben Hymers: Done. Not sure why you weren't able to, because I did it just fine. Adam9007 (talk) 21:12, 15 January 2018 (UTC)
Game announced
[edit]Don't have immediate time right now but they just announced their first game. Two Point Hospital, a thematic sequel-ish to Theme Hospital. [1] . --Masem (t) 15:07, 16 January 2018 (UTC)
