A fact from Uwe Holmer appeared on Wikipedia's Main Page in the Did you know column on 11 October 2024 (check views). The text of the entry was as follows:
Invited on my talk, I checked the article, and found it basically fine. Some terms were translated that I think shouldn't be, because the translated term has a too different meaning, such as "evangelical" for "evangelisch" (which is better Protestant). I changed some of those. I'm also not happy with using given names only for adults (Erich, Margot) but didn't change because it's difficult when they have the same last name. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:30, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update: If you are still reading this message, I am ready to have somebody review the article, however I am busy in real life and may need more than the standard seven days if the review is long and in-depth. ❤HistoryTheorist❤❤HistoryTheorist❤01:16, 23 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! I am a bit busy too, so don't rush, but don't forget to review! I would really appreciate some honest feedback on the early life section, but sources were hard to come by and I don't have enough money or German skills to buy his autobiography. ❤HistoryTheorist❤05:18, 24 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Holmer was the head of Bibelschule Falkenberg from 1967 to 1983 and the head of Hoffnungstaler remove the second "the head of"
early life
After he graduated secondary school ==> "After graduating secondary school"
ministry
Because the subject is German, this should be written in British English. Therefore, Holmer criticized the GDR, opposing forced collectivization ==> "Holmer criticised the GDR, opposing forced collectivisation"
later life and death
Nothing wrong here.
sources and images
Nothing wrong with images or sources. I’m happy with the early life sources, but if you plan to take this to FA you’re probably going to need that autobiography. Happy to pass once the above concerns are addressed, @HistoryTheorist:. 750h+07:19, 26 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: I don't want the hook to be too long, but I feel that most people don't know who Erich Honecker is. I think I lean toward ALT2 but I want your thoughts.

Overall: Hello History Theorist! This is a very well-written and well-sourced article. The hooks are interesting and the source for the hook fact checks out. I think ALT0, without mentioning either individual's name, might be the best choice, but I am okay with ALT2 too. So if you prefer ALT2 then I think we can go with ALT2. —Prince of Erebor(The Book of Mazarbul)06:39, 3 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
