Birthplace
[edit]Was Wolf born in Austria or Slovenia? The lede currently identifies him as "Slovenian-born" but nominates his birthplace as "Graz, Austria". This source says he was "Austrian-born", this one says "Slovenian born" whereas this one describes him as being "of Slovene origin". DH85868993 (talk) 23:56, 5 September 2008 (UTC)
- He was born in Austria, but to Slovene parents. --Eleassar my talk 07:09, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
- The part about Wolf birth and childhood is contradictory. It says: "Wolf was born in Graz, Austria. His mother was a Slovene from Lower Styria, while his father was an Austrian. After the Anschluss, the family moved to the Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Wolf spent his childhood in Maribor, Slovenia." Wolf was reportedly born in Graz in October 1939 while the Anschluß happened in March 1938. Doesn't fit. The German and Slovene versions of Wikipedia claim his father was a German. The DE claims he was from Reutlingen, although reliability of the given source might be questionable. It also states that Wolf moved to Canada alone and not with the family. The article in German mentions that Wolf was charged for credit fraud in Austria and acquitted in 2005, few years before the Patria scandal. The given source is an article on the web page of ORF Styria which also notes that Wolf was involved (for commission) in the Steyr's sale of Pandur armored vehicles to the Slovenian government.89.143.174.224 (talk) 15:59, 6 May 2016 (UTC)
