West Germany v France (1982 FIFA World Cup) → Night of Seville – Night of Seville is the WP:COMMONNAME, rather than the verbose name with disambiguator currently being used. Multiple other football matches use their nickname e.g. Battle of Bramall Lane, Disgrace of Gijón, and no reason why this shouldn't also. Joseph2302 (talk) 14:27, 8 December 2022 (UTC)

- @Joseph2302: please can you provide sources showing this is the COMMONNAME, and then ping me so I can consider? It's not mentioned here or here, for example. GiantSnowman 10:56, 10 December 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. There is no clear evidence that 'Night of Seville' is well established as most appropriate English-language name for this match, or the name by which it is commonly known in English (as per WP:CRITERIA). The two sources given in the main article refer only to foreign-language names.Tffff (talk) 10:46, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
- Comment: I have never heard it mentioned by that term. Obviously that counts for nothing if there are enough sources to satisfy COMMON but I would be quite surprised if that was the case. Crowsus (talk) 16:13, 11 December 2022 (UTC)
- Oppose. "Night of Seville" seems to yield 66 hits on a simple Google search, and many of those are not related to this match. Seems like a descriptive title is preferable in this instance. — Amakuru (talk) 13:18, 14 December 2022 (UTC)
