Shiyan–Xi'an high-speed railwayXi'an-Shiyan high-speed railway – Most sources seem to refer to it as Xi'an-Shiyan, but the article was created as part of WikiProject Trains, I presume by knowledgable individuals. Moreover, I don't know Chinese. Someone changed it and it seems like he might be right. According to google translate of the references, it is Xi'an-Shiyan. @Garuda3 as the original author, what do you think? Bar Harel (talk) 01:04, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Support Xi'an–Shiyan high-speed railway The Chinese sources publishes the railway name as 西十高铁. The 西十 characters in 西十高铁 takes after cities' names, i.e. 西安 (Xi'an) 堰 (Shiyan). 高铁 is high-speed railway. In English sources (that are not used here: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5]) refers to the railway as Xi'an–Shiyan high-speed railway. However, do note that many of these sources reflect the official translation by the Chinese government by virtue of being official news/websites of the government. Nonetheless, in absence a common English name, this is what we can fall back on.
Additionally, endash between Xi'an and Shiyan should be used, instead of just dash/hyphen according to MOS:ENDASH. If moved, the dash version should be created as a redirect to the endash version to aid in on-site search and linking. – robertsky (talk) 03:31, 7 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
