This article has been checked against the following criteria for B-class status:
On 22 January 2024, it was proposed that this article be moved to Zaw Min Tun. The result of the discussion was No consensus for the general, consensus for the footballer.
The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review after discussing it on the closer's talk page. No further edits should be made to this discussion.
The result of the move request was: No consensus for the general, consensus for the footballer. Consensus that the footballer is not the primary topic, but no consensus that the general is - I would suggest waiting a few months and seeing whether the view disparity continues and if it does opening a new move request. – Requesting move from "Zaw Min Tun (general)" to "Zaw Min Tun" for better article visibility and to adhere standard naming practices, and also the reason is not to be confused with footballer Zaw Min Tun, but the general is generally more popular and relevant. Thanks! . KhantExploreWiki KhantWiki (talk) 19:02, 22 January 2024 (UTC) — Relisting.– robertsky (talk) 11:58, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
There is no problem with the way this discussion is arranged, but the discussion needs to proceed for one week, and the page must not be moved while the discussion is open (or by an involved editor). Please leave things the way they are here, although you should feel free to respond with additional comments. Note that General Zaw Min Tun is not a standard title under WP:NCP. When those sorts of ranks are needed, they go in parentheses after the name, the way things are now. Zaw Min Tun (major general) might be fine in some circumstances, but it is not necessary here. The ranks are not used as a way to avoid parentheses. As I said above, I do think the underlying idea that the footballer is not the main topic here is a fair point. Dekimasuよ!15:23, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
The main point and the One thing is I want to make it just "Zaw Min Tun" instead of "Zaw Min Tun (general)" but it's not allowed for some reason, it said " The page could not be moved, for the following reason: The page could not be moved: a page of that name already exists, or the name you have chosen is not valid. Please choose another name, or use Requested moves to ask for the page to be moved."KhantWiki (talk) 15:31, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is not time to move the page now. If we find consensus to move the page after one week, someone else (not you, since you suggested the move) will make the move. That editor will be able to do it if necessary. Zaw Min Tun cannot be used now because the page is already occupied, and that page should not be moved until this discussion is complete either. Dekimasuよ!15:54, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, that's why it is because it's occupied by the footballer. I want to make the general the main focus because he's generally more relevant at least of now. But it's not a really big deal but it would be a little better if the general is the Zaw Min Tun instead of the footballer. Thank you! KhantWiki (talk) 16:01, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Move on both The general is the clear WP:PRIMARYTOPIC as one of the senior political figures heading a Ministry right now. News articles cover him more and it's not just WP:RECENTISM since both figures are from the current-ish day.
So, based on the lack of substantive secondary sources talking about the footballer, I think the verifiable primary topic is the general.
I also make a qualitative argument that the minister of information and the main spokesperson justifying the coup from the junta's perspective is more likely to have long-term education significance and WP:NPOV discussions relating to the coup. EmeraldRange (talk/contribs) 16:51, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Absolutely, Thank You. The general is clearly the verifiable primary topic and is clearly more relevant than the footballer. He's more prominent and relevant based on his political and his voice for the stance of politics and also for the Myanmar coup d'état, he is included on many news articles and sources unlike the footballer Zaw Min Tun with lack of secondary sources and details. The general is included on many news articles and websites and more relevant and popular and hence he deserves the name Zaw Min Tun instead of the footballer who might not be as relevant as the general, as of now. KhantWiki (talk) 17:22, 23 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support per EmeraldRange. Hey Khant, welcome back to Wikipedia. Thanks for expanding on the Zaw Min Tun article. However, much of the information overlaps with the first paragraph, and the last section is not related to Zaw Min Tun; it focuses on the coup d'état: As part of the coup, Vice-President Myint Swe, functioning as Acting President,[14][15] declared a state of emergency on 1 February and transferred the legislative, executive and judicial powers of the state to the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.[16][17] On 2 February, the SAC was established to exercise those powers, preventing the democratically elected government from fulfilling its mandate. You should fix it. Thanks 1.47.130.230 (talk) 23:28, 24 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Support 2nd, weak oppose 1st. Until a few weeks ago the views were similar but the general has gone up recently. The general has 965 views compared with only 377[[1]] for the footballer. Crouch, Swale (talk) 17:07, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
