PixStash (pronounced "Pix`Stash") is a global online photo-sharing platform. It is based in Innsbruck, Austria.
PixStash is an online platform for photographers, webmasters, meme-fans, forum users and pretty much everyone that needs to upload and share images in high quality without compression.
History[edit]
Originally started in 2008, the site was taken over by Dominik Rainer, a web-developer and web-designer from Innsbruck, Austria. Dominik Rainer started optimizing the project in 2020, adding multiple features and API Integration for other websites and forums.
Pixstash fills the gap between paid image hosts with subscription model, and free image hosts with highly compressed images. It was created to offer individuals a free option to upload uncompressed images of up to 80mb without a limit. The website is funded by advertising and donations.

Technology[edit]
PixStash has automatic and user moderated content filters to prevent showing nsfw content in public display. Pixstash is powered by chevereto image sharing script. After upload BBcode, HTML, Links and other options to embed images are shown to the user. There is an upload limit of 800kB for unregistered users, registered users can upload uncompressed files with up to 80mb. The site is powered by cloudflare and hosted on multiple cloud servers.
There is an api to access the site using your own plugins and there are plugins available for bbPress, Discourse, Discuz!, Invision Power Board, MyBB, NodeBB, ProBoards, phpBB, Simple Machines Forum, Vanilla Forums, vBulletin, WoltLab, XenForo. Users may also use ShareX for uploading to PixStash.
Albums[edit]
Users can upload their images to albums and sort them in categories.
Gallery[edit]
The public PixStash gallery is a collection of the most viral images from around the web based on an algorithm that computes views, shares and votes based on time.
Supported Formats[edit]
PixStash supports pictures in the formats GIF, WebP, PNG, BMP and Jpeg.
Community Features[edit]
The site offers member search, album search and photo search. Users may signup and login using their Facebook, VK, google or Twitter Accounts.
Funding[edit]
PixStash is privately funded and gets its revenue from selling adspace and recieving donations from users.
Privacy And Security[edit]
Each account has a private and public area. Private areas are visible only to the account owner. Users can set viewing options to allow certain categories of people to view their albums (everybody, everybody with link or just the owner). Albums can be hidden or password protected or both.
Adult content can be marked with a "Not safe for work" flag. Such content requires age confirmation to be viewed and is hidden in public areas of the site. The site's Terms Of Service[2] policy prohibits public display of adult content. Users can report photos in question using a complaint form. Copyright infringement is also prohibited.
All sensitive, personal and financial information is transmitted using SSL encryption (https). Personal information including email is not available to the public.
