User:EdJogg/Contributions
Most of my editing time is spent being a Wikignome, but occasionally my edits are rather more apparent. While Wikipedia is a collaborative process, and a ground-rule is that no-one should claim 'ownership' of any articles, nevertheless it is of encouragement to me to see where I have made a significant contribution to the cause. This page is an unashamed (but incomplete) list of articles to which I am pleased to have made a major contribution in some way.

Shortcuts created
[edit]'Adopted'
[edit]Pages created by someone else, but subsequently 'adopted' by User:EdJogg. Typically this means: adding the bulk of the text to the article, or substantially re-writing what's already there, to the extent that the majority of the article (except images) is EdJogg's work. Usually also means that article will remain on watchlist and monitored for future changes. Note that some such pages may have been omitted.
- The Railway Series
- Atlantic Coast Express
- ICC Records
- Mortehoe
- Traction engine -- (apart from images and manufacturers list)
- Steamroller
- Burpham, Surrey
- Merrow, Surrey -- almost complete rewrite, expanding from stub
- Crossness Pumping Station
- Tarka Trail -- expanded from single-paragraph stub
- Wharncliffe Viaduct -- expanded 13-fold from a single paragraph (in two days, aiming for my first DYK, which we got!)
- Railroad plough -- major re-write and (planned) incorporation of German article text
- Portable engine -- collaborative expansion on new article to get a Main Page DYK
- Ferdinand Verbiest -- major expansion and research project, just to get a Main Page DYK!
- Steam wagon
Significantly re-arranged or added to, and with an expectation of adding much more content in the future, such that it will then qualify for the above category!:
Major Contributions
[edit]Typically those pages to which EdJogg has contributed significant sections, or many small edits, but not enough change to consider the page as 'adopted'.
- Ilfracombe (much copy-editing. Spawned the Ilfracombe Branch Line page!)
- Boco/BoCo/Boco (disambiguation)/Boston Conservatory (resolved disambig mixup, for which I was given a barnstar!)
- Road roller
- Steam tractor
- Pumping station – organised, including creation of list of pumping stations
- Jacobs Well, Guildford – added bulk of initial info
- Tower Bridge – hydraulic system including the steam engines, operation, navigation signals, plus many other areas
- Coleham Pumping Station – re-write to avoid copyvio
- Tub boat lift – proof-read & copy-edit during draft stage
- Cuckoo Line – much work and additional research to new (but competent) article + Main Page DYK
- Penmanshiel Tunnel – minor clean-up, new sections, and additional research to new (but competent) article + Main Page DYK
- SR West Country and Battle of Britain Classes – general heavy copy-editing to assist the article reaching first GA, then FA status!
- GWR Autocoach – many small edits + research, aiming to be the resource about GWR Autotrains on the web
- Vertical boiler – considerably expanded on the work by originator Gwernol
- Several other Southern loco articles to GA and/or FA
- Holt Manufacturing Company -- pre-DYK (and pre-GAC) review -- numerous small edits
Significant copy-edits:
[edit]- Steam shovel (twice!!)
- Graham McPherson ('Suggs'!)
- crane (machine)
- crane (railroad)
Page moves
[edit]Most page moves haven't been listed. These are some early ones...

- St Mary's (Newbold) to St Mary's Catholic High School, Newbold
- PeCo to peco (unit of measurement)
- Penmanshiel Tunnel collapse <--> Penmanshiel Tunnel – reversed redirect, so that Penmanshiel Tunnel became article title.
