Please first read User:Shock Brigade Harvester Boris/A pocket guide to Arbitration. Then pay a minute of silence to its author whom to have known was one of the pleasures on the site. He would have been an arb for whom I'd have voted without a question.

If you want analysis and recommendations, look what others offer. To know what I go for, or just compare what the candidates answered, stay here and read their answers, abbreviated by "agree" and others shortcuts for sometimes verbuous comments.

Questions

[edit]

I wanted to ask one simple question:

I commented in the Fram case, decision talk, like this:
Comment by Gerda
Trying to keep it simple: I believe that Fram's admin rights were removed out of process, and should be restored without questions. In case of future problems, the community can get back to arbcom. A new RfA right now seems to offer no fair chances. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:14, 10 September 2019 (UTC).
Imagine you had been an arb, what would you have written in reply? --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:16, 31 October 2019 (UTC)

For clarification, I added a second question:

Second question, same thread: LouisAlain?

Finally, if I still couldn't figure out what the answer to the first questions would have been, I asked which remedy the candidate would have supported. I would have supported 2a, as Worm That Turned and Opabinia regalis, or 2e, which was not yet there when I commented, but was prepared with great effort by GorillaWarfare.

As some seemed to have trouble understanding what I wanted to know, I summarized later:

I commented in the Fram case, decision talk, like this. If you had been an arb then, what might you have replied, and/or which of the remedies under 2 would you have supported?

Looking at the answers

[edit]

I looked at the answers, and marked what I liked, which doesn't necessarily mean I will vote for them, - other factors may play a role.

My question: I wanted to see a clear statement of in dubio pro reo. None of us could look at the secret evidence, but we could see some open evidence which raised doubts - at least with me - about the quality of the allegations. I also looked at how concise a candidate could deliver a message, at my former experiences with a candidate, and at recent contributions. Candidates marked green will most likely get my vote, as of the first day of voting. I'll give the others another chance. I am sad about Hevrin Khalaf - protest pictured, which matters much more than arbcom. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:40, 19 November 2019 (UTC)

Cassianto asked some candidates questions about a case in which he was involved, sometimes a short version (s), sometimes a long version (l). I looked at what candidates replied, and marked what I like. With Barkeep49, we had as interesting discussion. 12 candidates today and we found an image. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 08:45, 20 November 2019 (UTC)

Kurdish civil engineer and politician
Hevrin Khalaf,
who worked for tolerance
among Christians, Arabs, and Kurds,
was killed
in the 2019 Turkish offensive into Syria?

I voted. As 12 candidates passed my minimum request I voted neutral for the one most likely to be elected without my vote. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 17:09, 23 November 2019 (UTC)
