Welcome to my user page. Feel free to improve this page. I enjoy contributing to Wikipedia and other Wikimedia projects, which I first starting doing on 15 May 2004. I registered on 4 July 2004. Some pre-registration edits: 68.64.7.68

I prefer to use Wikipedia via HTTPS and am glad to see that IPv6 is supported.

I have at least three ancestors with Wikipedia articles: William Bradford (Plymouth Colony governor), Stephen Hopkins (Mayflower passenger), and Constance Hopkins.

Opinions[edit]

  • 2011-09-04 Andrew G. West performed unethical research.
  • 2011-02-09 When looking at a diff of changes to several separate paragraphs, there should be an option to revert just the change to one paragraph.
  • 2010-10-02 There needs to be a search just for each article's history. This would allow you to find when certain content was added or went missing.
  • Most TV episode lists should include fair use screenshots.
  • Ads on Wikipedia: I don't want ads on Wikipedia unless donations can't cover costs, but I'm curious as to how much money can be generated from 24 hours of Google text ads placed under the interlanguage links.

Donations[edit]

2002 MS Proof.png

Wikipedia and other Wikimedia Foundation projects are valuable resources, but it takes more than volunteers to keep it running. See where the money goes. But the quick staffing numbers increase makes me nervous. I may stop donating.

I acquired a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Mississippi State University in 1998 and have been in the United States Air Force since 2001.

I'm also generally interested in history, geography, etc.

Images[edit]

I upload some fair use images (book and album covers mostly) to the English Wikipedia, see Special:ListFiles/Pmsyyz

I'm uploading free images to the Wikimedia Commons now. See my user page there for a list. I've contributed photos of the Colorado Springs area, my hometown, and of places I've driven through, such as Seiling, Oklahoma.

Picture of the day
Louis Armstrong

Louis Armstrong (1901–1971) was an American jazz trumpeter and singer. Born into poverty in New Orleans, he developed his trumpet- and cornet-playing skills in a variety of locations, including dance halls and a juvenile detention center. In the 1920s, he gained prominence playing in Chicago and New York, where he was recognized for his inventive playing style and gravelly vocals. He remained active until his death, performing in hundreds of gigs a year, appearing in multiple films and television shows, and releasing his greatest hit, "Hello, Dolly!", in 1964.

Tip of the day...

How to disable the section edit links

If you have created an account, you may notice little "[edit]" links on some pages. An [edit] link is shown for every heading on a page. If you don't like the [edit] links, you can turn them off in your preferences. Just uncheck the box next to "Enable section editing via [edit] links". That setting is activated by default, so all you have to do is deactivate it by removing the checkmark.
