Request reason:

I am a Bangladeshi wikipedian who daily contributes in Bengali Wikipedia. I was told to translate properly an article into bengali as early as possible named Bangladeshi Americans I don't know when I had done that. But I am extremely sure of that I have contributed in bengali Wikipedia when I was logged-out. That's why my ip address has been blocked yet. so, please, dear admin, help me to unblock that ip address. Thank you.

Decline reason:

This account is not blocked on this Wikipedia. As below - we have no control over the Bengali Wikipedia. If you believe that your IP is blocked on the English Wikipedia, I would recommend requesting an unblock via UTRS, and including the IP address that you believe is blocked with the request. You may also indicate the IP here if you like - I only suggest UTRS as it is more private.SQLQuery me! 03:10, 4 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I do not see a block on this account in the English Wikipedia; if you cannot edit here please post, below this note, the message which you see when you try to edit here. We have no control over activities on the Bengali Wikipedia.--Anthony Bradbury"talk" 09:34, 3 May 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jasim Mondal requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.thedailystar.net/backpage/revolutionary-leader-jasim-uddin-dies-1470733. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Write in your own words

[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Fahim fanatic, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to Jasim Mondal have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. --Worldbruce (talk) 18:49, 7 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Image without license

[edit]

Unspecified source/license for File:Samarpan maiti.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Samarpan maiti.jpeg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. Even if you created the image yourself, you still need to release it so Wikipedia can use it. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time after the next seven days. If you made this image yourself, you can use copyright tags like {{PD-self}} (to release all rights), {{self|CC-by-sa-3.0|GFDL}} (to require that you be credited), or any tag here - just go to the image, click edit, and add one of those. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by MifterBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. NOTE: Once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. --MifterBot (TalkContribsOwner) 09:45, 13 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Be especially careful when writing about living people

[edit]

Information icon Hello, I'm Worldbruce. I noticed that you made an edit concerning content related to a living (or recently deceased) person on Bdnews24.com, but you didn't support your changes with a citation to a reliable source, so I removed it. Wikipedia has a very strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate and clear. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you! --Worldbruce (talk) 06:22, 20 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Worldbruce:, thanks for ur concern. But u know what Aziz Ahmed is currently new chief of Bangladesh. So, Bangladeshi media will be very careful to run any news especially if the news is negative about him. I have edited a section about him, see Aziz Ahmed (general)#Family_background_and_controversy. Hope, u will review it. Fahim fanatic (talk) 13:43, 25 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

WP:Biomedical information

[edit]

Fahim fanatic, for WP:Biomedical information, including the topic of biology with regard to sexual orientation, do your best to stick to WP:Secondary and tertiary sources rather than to WP:Primary sources. WP:Secondary sources are preferred anyway. Studies are done all the time. A study's result is not automatically the truth or accurate about a matter, which is why what review articles state (for example) are preferred to what a single study has stated about something. What matters, in part, is whether the study has been replicated. Do read WP:MEDRS. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 01:24, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Flyer22 Reborn:; Thank you for review of my contribution regarding Biology and sexual orientation article. My grammatical sense in English is not so good. That's why I think there can be little confusion or misunderstanding about my writing how I write (Though I use valid reference to refer). But I didn't clearly understand what u wanted to say. I used peer reviewed journal article as reference. And nature journal has high impact factor. So the latest research about sexual orientation need to add in Wikipedia and I think if the research is supported by other previous peer reviewed researches we should mention it also. isn't it?Fahim fanatic (talk) 12:22, 20 August 2018 (UTC)Fahim fanatic[reply]
This addition is a clear no. I already told you why. Read WP:MEDRS. I understand that there is a language barrier, but, per WP:MEDRS, that addition should stay out. Peer review is not the same thing as literature review. If you WP:Edit war over this, I will take the matter to WP:Med. Flyer22 Reborn (talk) 17:15, 20 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

ARBIPA sanctions alert

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in India, Pakistan, and Afghanistan. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Please obtain WP:CONSENSUS before deleting sourced and verified content. -- Kautilya3 (talk) 20:00, 25 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Placename changes and Wikipedia policy

[edit]

Wikipedia doesn't necessarily use the same spelling the government uses. Please see earlier discussions of what name the encyclopedia uses and why, on Talk:Chittagong and at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Bangladesh/Archive 7#Placename changes and Wikipedia policy. You are welcome to start a new discussion, but a new consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. --Worldbruce (talk) 05:32, 18 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Problem with your custom signature

[edit]

You have a custom signature set in your account preferences. A change to Wikipedia's software has made your current custom signature incompatible with the software.

The problem: Your preferences are set to interpret your custom signature as wikitext. However, your current custom signature does not contain any wikitext.

The solutions: You can reset your signature to the default, or you can fix your signature.

Solution 1: Reset your signature to the default:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Remove anything in the Signature: text box. (It might already be empty.)
  4. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page. (The red "Restore all default settings" button will reset all of your preference settings, not just the signature.)
Solution 2: Fix your custom signature:
  1. Find the signature section in the first tab of Special:Preferences.
  2. Uncheck the box (☑︎→☐) that says "Treat the above as wiki markup."
  3. Click the blue "Save" button at the bottom of the page.

More information about custom signatures is available at Wikipedia:Signatures#Customizing how everyone sees your signature. If you have followed these instructions and still want help, please leave a message at Wikipedia talk:Signatures. Thank you. 18:03, 7 September 2020 (UTC)
