Stations for Downtown Line

[edit]

If you think I am wrong editing downtown line stations, why not delete all the colour codes on all the Singapore MRT & LRT lines? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Irobotboy (talkcontribs) 09:57, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Did you get the right person? I support the coloured station codes as it would be kept constant with the rest of the lines. When they say look at LU, they forgot that LU has no Station code. - 1.02 editor (talk) 10:03, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I apologize for not using my account earlier as I was on my phone. I was indeed intending to delete all the colours on the rest of the lines. However, out of respect for your enthusiasm in the upkeep of the articles, I deferred further action and seek to arrive at a consensus.
To 1.02 editor, I apologize for using your talk page for this, but since he replied here, I deem it prudent to explain my reasoning to both of you. When I requested you to look at London Underground and Beijing Subway articles, I was in fact referring to the style of the template. I was aware that Singapore is one of the few countries to implement codes for its stations. In the case of the station codes, as the entire line is indeed the same colour (for obvious reasons), it's unnecessary to further emphasize that the Downtown Line is coloured blue. The header at the top of the article should be sufficient.
However, upon reflection I agree that the Notes section could contain some colour to distinguish and emphasize the interchange stations. Hence, I propose that the station codes remain in plain text, while the line in the Notes section is formatted like this: Interchange station with the North South Line.
I look forward to your reply and your construction contributions to Wikipedia. Every editor is valued, as our pool is shrinking nowadays. Seloloving (talk) 10:39, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I do think that you are aware that the coloured Station code is seen everywhere on the MRT but not the black and white typed version. In my opinion, it would be easier to distinguish Stations by the coloured code. - 1.02 editor (talk) 10:58, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Also, in the wiki map,the station code is used instead of black and white and I feel that it should be kept constant throughout the article. - 1.02 editor (talk) 11:00, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Indeed I am aware, but however, that's not the point of Wikipedia. The coloured station codes serve a purpose in the stations as they quickly direct people to their intended platforms. On Wikipedia, the purpose of the colour is simply to emphasize that these stations belong to a particular line. It isn't supposed to aid in navigation in the real world. The overwhelming use of colours in articles clutter up the page as they aid no useful purpose. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a directory. The Wiki map as you say, serves it's purpose as a map, but the article is not meant to be a map. Seloloving (talk) 11:06, 17 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Can someone help me edit the template for DTL? Thanks. - 1.02 editor (talk) 10:37, 20 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you've twice restored insufficiently sourced promotional content, which was added by a paid contributor, and described my edits as vandalism. Short of going to ANI, what do you suggest? 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 03:32, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

could you have at least waited for me to reply? my reply got into an edit conflict. 1.02 editor (talk) 03:47, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
back to the topic, I apologise for tagging the reverts as vandalism as i overlooked your edit summary, but i felt that that the 'work' section was partially salvageable and only the removal of certain promotional sections was required. 1.02 editor (talk) 03:51, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Unless there are multiple sources that support it, none of it is worth keeping--it's sourced solely to the subject's book, and was added by a self-professed paid promotional account. 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 03:54, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
looking around on google, there are some sources on it. would get around to writing a neutral paragraph on it.1.02 editor (talk) 04:00, 4 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Rollback granted

[edit]

Hi 1.02 editor. After reviewing your request for "rollbacker", I have enabled rollback on your account. Keep in mind these things when going to use rollback:

  • Getting rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle.
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear cases of vandalism only, and not good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war.
  • If abused, rollback rights can be revoked.
  • Use common sense.

If you no longer want rollback, contact me and I'll remove it. Also, for some more information on how to use rollback, see Wikipedia:Administrators' guide/Rollback (even though you're not an admin). I'm sure you'll do great with rollback, but feel free to leave me a message on my talk page if you run into troubles or have any questions about appropriate/inappropriate use of rollback. Thank you for helping to reduce vandalism. Happy editing! Beeblebrox (talk) 19:41, 21 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That page haven't created for now in English Wikipedia and only redirect. The Chinese Wikipedia have a page to describe “Light Rapid Transit” and noted that Malaysian LRT are unique as it is not on the road surface but almost like rapid transit. But one thing I can sure is MRT is mass rapid transit, not that medium capacity. That IP user are adding incorrect information in Klang Valley lines. angys (Talk Talk) 08:54, 26 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Clementi rail accident

[edit]

On 28 February 2018, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Clementi rail accident, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the Clementi rail accident on the Singapore MRT was caused by a 50-litre (11 imp gal; 13 US gal) oil spill? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Clementi rail accident. You are welcome to check how many page hits the article got while on the front page (here's how, Clementi rail accident), and it may be added to the statistics page if the total is over 5,000. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.
