Block/Blockage
[edit]I’d just like to interject for a moment. What you’re refering to as block, is in fact, Block/Blockage, or as I’ve recently taken to calling it, Block plus Blockage. Block is not a blockage unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning blockage system made useful by the block corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full Blockage as defined by BLOCKIX.
Many block users run a modified version of the blockage system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of blockage which is widely used today is often called “block”, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the blockage system, developed by the Blockage Project.
There really is a Block, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Block is the action: the program in the system that allocates the machine’s resources to the other programs that you run. The block is an essential part of a blockage, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete blockage. Block is normally used in combination with the blockage system: the whole system is basically blockage with block added, or Block/Blockage. All the so-called “Block” distributions are really distributions of Block/Blockage.
