A few things:

  • The lead is made up of several small paragraphs; I suggest merging a few together so that they flow better.
  • Try making "These are lists of" more interesting, like "There have been X number of [something] since [this year]." Check out recently promoted lists at WP:FL2009 for some ideas.
  • Years should be unlinked per WP:DATE.
  • References should be formatted to include publishers and access dates per WP:CITE/ES; I suggest using {{cite web}} to make it easier to do.
  • Have a look at lists like List of NBA All-Stars to see how they use both General and Specific references in their References section.

Orphaned non-free media (File:Hobartlogo large.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Hobartlogo large.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:08, 22 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Vote for Football as the Australian collaboration

[edit]

Hi -- I recently nominated Wikipedia:WikiProject Football (soccer) in Australia/To-do for the Australian Collaboration of the Fortnight.

This WikiProject has been inactive for a long time and with the World Cup coming up, it would be good for football (soccer) articles to be in depth and comprehensive in Australia.

If you would like to support it, click here for the project page to cast your vote

Thanks! Australian Matt (talk) 02:57, 8 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Colony of Tasmania

[edit]

Hi. Thanks for creating the Colony of Tasmania article. there's a discussion under way here about it, including what unique content it might contain that is not already covered in Tasmania, History of Tasmania and/or Van Diemen's Land. And views or comments on this would be welcome. Euryalus (talk) 23:07, 23 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Youre lucky I am offline for almost 6 months I am sure I'd give you trouble all the say - while I am not totally convinced by your argument - I am mainly against the idea unless all states get the same treatment. Btw I am almost certain your chosen user name is either a trademarked or copyrighted name in Tasmania - I havent tracked it adequately to check and I wouldnt trust google to solve it. I'll be in London in September - I promise I wont try hunting you down for a beer for my cheek! - If you have issue with my comments - go ahead with what you are doing anyways - I wont be around - I have no time to followup after tonight - please dont reply on my wiki talk - try my email - I will not be regularly checking it (wiki talk page) until.... well december probably :) SatuSuro 11:11, 25 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Jade Selby

[edit]

The article Jade Selby has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Has never played a First Class or List A match. He never will as he's off the radar at 31 and doesn't have a Tasmanian contract.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Aaroncrick (talk) 11:00, 12 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

No objection. I created the article prematurely when he was upgraded from a rookie contract in 2008, but I agree with the above comments that the article can wait for him to play FC - if he ever does. 42° South (talk) 09:36, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:RonMorrisby.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:RonMorrisby.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:01, 27 November 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 05:01, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

SatuSuro 12:29, 1 December 2009 (UTC) Yeah I am based in Perth - but I have many unscanned photos and many books (I could write heaps of related articles about the history of the hydro, and south west tassie, and many more about the west coast, and or some more of the tasmanian railway history from the material that i have if i ever put my mind to it - but hey there is only one life (i suspect)- as to any priorities that could do with good coordination - i would like to have a few weeks going through the unassessed tassie arts first - maybe after christmas - have a beer for me anyways (I could not fathom the beers drinking rate of the travelling londoners I met in Istanbul and in Syria and Jordan - theyd leave an aussie behind and dry at the rate that they consume) SatuSuro 13:19, 1 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]
