Demonym

[edit]

Hi, how are u?, I see here that you understand the situation about the demonyms of the countries, so, I want to ask you did you want to join in the descussion here and to help me to prove my claims. Namely, I'm claiming the the demonym refers to all the residents of one country and because of that the link for the demonym of the countries who have a dominant ethnic group, can't go to that ethnic group, but to the demographics of that country. I explained my claims and on my talk page, you can read them. Thank you. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User_talk:Sashko1999#The_DEMONYM_refers_to_all_citizens_of_one_country,_and_the_ETHNONYM_refers_to_people_of_a_particular_ethnic_group Sashko1999 (talk) 13:30, 9 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

done my friend @Sashko1999.

Please stop making North Macedonia redirects

[edit]

Hello, I've noticed that you're making redirects related to the North Macedonia name change. The adjectival use of 'Macedonian' and ' is subject to an upcoming RfC that where a heated debate is expected to occur and the community is to decide the naming conventions to be used on the English Wikipedia. Please rv your changes. --FlavrSavr (talk) 16:32, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

thanks for your message @FlavrSavr:. I refrained from using "north macedonian" because of the potential debate. I just replaced cases where we had "of the Republic of" with "of North Macedonia". The adjectival use can still be changed to something else if decided. For the moment it is just consistent with the name of the country in WP as it was before. But still I didn't change all of them. For example I didn't change:
- Macedonians_(ethnic_group)
- Proposed_coat_of_arms_of_Macedonia
I'll wait to hear from you.--APG1984 (talk) 17:31, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

North Macedonian cuisine

[edit]

I know you moved the article "Macedonian cuisine" to "North Macedonian cuisine" because the country renamed as "Republic of North Macedonia" in February 2019, thus the country is colloquially known as "North Macedonia" from February 2019. But the ethnic group is still called "Macedonians", the ethnic group's own language is still called "Macedonian language". In order to describe the cuisine in the country "North Macedonia" and distinguish from "Greek Macedonian cuisine", I think it is a good idea to rename the article "Macedonian cuisine" as "Cuisine of North Macedonia". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.253.193.99 (talk) 18:05, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@114.253.193.99: Thanks for your message. I agree with you.--APG1984 (talk) 20:38, 13 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
So why not do the change of this article's title as I advised? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 114.253.193.99 (talk) 03:46, 14 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Because there is now an ongoing discussion on the matter in search fro consensus.--APG1984 (talk) 08:49, 17 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Greg Mathias moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Greg Mathias, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
