Thunderbolt Ross

Hi. Welcome to Wikipedia, and thanks for working to improve the site with your edit to Thunderbolt Ross, as we really appreciate your participation. However, the edit had to be reverted, because Wikipedia cannot accept unsourced material or original research. This includes material lacking cited sources, or obtained through personal knowledge or unpublished synthesis of previously published material. Wikipedia requires that all material added to articles be accompanied by reliable, verifiable sources explicitly cited in the text in the form of an inline citation, which you can learn to make here. I did a Google Search on the clip in question, and found it at Marvel.com, and Ross does not appear in it. (If I'm mistaken, and there is a different clip with him in it, please provide a reliable source for it.)

If you have any other questions about editing, or need help regarding the site's policies, just let me know by leaving a message for me in a new section at the bottom of my talk page. Thanks. :-) Nightscream (talk) 14:33, 10 September 2011 (UTC)

Thor 2

As another editor notes at Marvel Cinematic Universe, we do not re-revert without discussion. I would additionally note that we do not link to copy-cat sites but to the original sources of reporting, which in the Natalie Portman item is Entertainment Weekly here. Thanks. --Tenebrae (talk) 21:36, 24 September 2011 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Hobbit (film series), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Luke Evans (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Music of the Marvel Cinematic Universe

I just want you to know, that I am in the process of moving this article back to my sandbox for two reasons: 1) By moving the page as you did, it moved my sandbox history with it, something that I don't want on that article, and should not be on that article. 2) I don't feel the article is ready for the main space. While I appreciate the contributions you did to it, it was very much just copy and pasted info from the already existing soundtrack articles. If this page is to be done, it needs to be more than just a copy/paste of information. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 05:54, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

Hey, I understand, and I am sorry for any inconveniences I have caused. I, like you, only wish the best for the articles and the encyclopedia. Thanks for the message! - adamstom97 (talk) 10:44, 24 May 2014 (UTC)

Recent edits

Hey Adam. I know you are trying to make worthwhile edits to the Marvel Cinematic Universe pages, but recently some of your edits have been very rash. They are in good faith, but they are removing content that does not need to be removed at the moment. While we are working on getting these pages the be the best that they can be, in my opinion, things are not done very rashly. Either on the article talk pages, or among the top contributor's talk pages, we discuss potential editions, or make stuff in our sandboxes as I have been doing, before implementing them, to share with everyone. At least for me, I make sure if I am doing sandbox work, I have everything up to par to get it to the mainspace before I actually do, meaning it has a copy edit, everything is sourced, and has a general style/formula similar to the other pages. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:17, 1 June 2014 (UTC)

I also see that you have been working a lot on the comic article, which I greatly appreciated. Just some notes, all those tables you made, need to have sources for each title. As well, all prose on the page need sources, and I'm pretty sure that some of the sources that are on there need replacing. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 03:19, 1 June 2014 (UTC)

Once again, thanks for the message. Although i have been editing Wikipedia for a while, i have only gotten really interested quite recently, so all of the feedback etc. is greatly appreciated. I will try and focus on sources for the comics page as soon as i have time. - adamstom97 (talk) 04:01, 1 June 2014 (UTC)
You're welcome. If you have thoughts on something, and aren't sure if it could go either way for the edit sticking, or being undone, feel free to drop me a note, or as I said, take to one of the MCU article talk pages it would most be applied to. Or if you just want to discuss a general gameplan for tackling or improving something. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 04:52, 1 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi, I'm Jodosma, I noticed you removed some info from Marvel Cinematic Universe which caused a cite error because your edit removed references which were named refs. You can see the edit here if you wish. Because of your edit, other refs which referred to the ones you took out were left without a definition, which caused the error. I'm sure this was an inadvertent error which you may wish to correct. Jodosma (talk) 19:36, 7 June 2014 (UTC)

MCU television series page

Just so you know, I have just requested for the redirect on the article to be deleted so I can move my draft. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 05:46, 20 August 2014 (UTC)

Star Trek infobox

Hi Adamstom, if you would like to discuss your suggested changes we can do it here or on the article's talk page, but please don't revert it again without discussion; we don't want you risking wp:3rr Cryomantic (talk) 14:36, 26 August 2014 (UTC)

Sorry, I don't want to start an edit war, I just think that is really unnecessary. The films are already listed on the page, and the article I linked to also lists them, which uncluters the infobox a lot. If there was an individual page for the TV series like the film one, I would suggest doing the same thing there. This is also done at Marvel Cinematic Universe, and I think it is better for all round tidiness of the page. - adamstom97 (talk) 04:34, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

I understand what you mean in regards to minimizing clutter, however it is currently laid out in the same format as many Wikipedia pages of similar subjects. I have also looked at the Marvel page that you have mentioned and I would believe that the method used there is somewhat because the series as a whole is made up of several sub-series, some of which have had previous incarnations/ iterations, add in the fact that there are other current marvel series (eg: X-Men) that are not included and I agree it does help in that instance to make clear which productions are included in that particular canon and their relation to each other. However for Star Trek it is far more straightforward as beyond the Paramount produced films there are only parody and fan works, therefore there is no reason to over complicate the matter as they all follow each other in order without any major nods to each other aside from the Spock trilogy (films 2 to 4). 178.78.123.66 (talk) 12:15, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

I guess its fine for now, but if at any point there is also a list of television series page as well, I would probably suggest coming back to this format, and just having those two articles in the infobox. - adamstom97 (talk) 19:55, 27 August 2014 (UTC)

MCU television actors page

Just so you know, I like what you have started. Though, I feel it may be a harder sell in the wider community to create. I feel that, unlike the films, if we were to make tables with every single character (already or will be listed on each show's individual page) a very good majority will not be the ones crossing over to other shows. As I thought, we should really let all these shows establish themselves, with the smaller form table I have on what will be the main tv page, and then see if your's will be a good addition. I'm not telling you to stop adding to it, or formatting it and such, but I just want you to know that it will be a hard sell as I see it, given what we already have and what will be created (most likely List of pages for Agent Carter only, Daredevil only, etc.) . - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:53, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

I understand that, and I think a more probable solution is to have individual character pages for each series, with the combining table on the list of television series page, and then when that table gets to big for the page, spin that off into its own page, probably called something like List of Marvel Cinematic Universe television series recurring actors. However, I think we should keep this page for now, and people can help improve it if they want, until such a time as we decide to move ahead with this or a similar plan. - adamstom97 (talk) 21:31, 11 August 2014 (UTC)

@Favre1fan93: Now that the tv page has been moved to the mainspace, and news is really starting to ramp up as we get close to SHIELD season 2, I see that my idea above is sounding like somewhere to aim for, but I thought I might check with you first, so that hopefully we can be on the same page. As we have gotten more and more casting news for the upcoming shows, the cast table on the tv page has grown, and now it doesn't even all fit on my screen at once. That is fine for now, but as more shows are added, soon the table will be both too long and too wide, so the scrolling div option from the films page won't really work either. At that point, I think we should replace the table with maybe a paragraph summarising it, and have a main article link to List of Marvel Cinematic Universe television series actors. I have already cut it down some, to only include principles, recurring, and crossovers, so it is inline with what is on the main page, but we will be able to fit all of the shows in because of the separated tv seasons format. The list of characters page(s) will remain, as they will list all guest stars as well, and focus on more of the in-universe stuff that a cast table avoids, but this page will be an easy to navigate summary of the main casts of the shows, the crossovers between seasons/shows, and of course the crossovers with other mediums. I definitely think this is where we should be headed, but it is more of a long-term goal I think. I would be interested in any thoughts you have on this. - adamstom97 (talk) 05:04, 5 September 2014 (UTC)

I will (eventually) take the time to look at this and let you know. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 18:42, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
That's fine, like I said, no hurry. - adamstom97 (talk) 02:55, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. episode pages

Thanks for making the pages but are you sure that they are start class articles. I've been making episode pages for Continuum and had them accessed at C-class articles and yours seem to be a lot more in depth and well written than mine. Perhaps you would like to submit them for grading at Wikipedia:WikiProject Television/Assessment--Ditto51 (My Talk Page) 14:12, 7 September 2014 (UTC)

Adam, if you create the pages as you do, with all that content, make them C-class from the get go. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:46, 7 September 2014 (UTC)
Okay, I wasn't sure so I just played it safe. Will do from now on. - adamstom97 (talk) 02:56, 8 September 2014 (UTC)

Advice

If you are gonna revert things, make sure you review what you are reverting. Not only you reverted my edit which removed your questionable contributions, but you also reverted the updated box-office gross and added back multiple sources which aren't needed.--SuperHotWiki (talk) 11:08, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
Questionable contributions? I am only bringing the page in line with the other alike pages on wikipedia: List of Marvel Cinematic Universe films, Spider-Man in film, Batman in film, Terminator (franchise), to name a few. If you make a negative change and a positive change at the same time, then it is up to you to restore the positive change when your negative change is reverted, unless someone else is kind enough to do it. Seeing as you gave no one any time to do this, you are not really in any position to give "advice". Now, I am going to give you some advice: If you are going to be so bold as to revert someone's edit, at least don't be a coward about it. We are all volunteers aiming to make the best quality articles we can, and by you trying to sneakily change the pages back to the way you wanted them without letting me know, it makes me think you are not serving in good fatih, and are in fact being disruptive. - adamstom97 (talk) 11:15, 19 September 2014 (UTC)

@Favre1fan93: I was also wondering what your timetable was in terms of a possible good article nomination for the page? It is a substantial article, and far better, in my opinion, then any other season article I have read. Also, the season itself has long since finished, so it's not like anything major is going to change any time soon. I would be happy to help out with anything needing to be done before or during it as well. - adamstom97 (talk) 06:11, 19 September 2014 (UTC)
Probably not until December at the earliest. We don't want to rush into a nomination. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 15:56, 19 September 2014 (UTC)

NYCC notes

I won't be on much this weekend to find sources for these:

  • Face Your Enemy aired in full
  • Agent Carter footage aired. Filming for the series began possibly a week ago, or on Monday of this week (at least the scene we saw tonight was filmed Monday).

I'll update here tomorrow after I (hopefully) get into the Daredevil panel. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:54, 11 October 2014 (UTC)

Cool, will sort it out, have fun! - adamstom97 (talk) 01:05, 11 October 2014 (UTC)
Great job with all the additions. Richiekim too. If you guys need any clarification on the info coming out about either, let me know as I did attend both. Other minor stuff: Agent Carter (show and character) looks badass and Daredevil looks really dark and non-ABC as it should. Looking forward to both! - Favre1fan93 (talk) 01:24, 13 October 2014 (UTC)

Your recent editing history shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. To resolve the content dispute, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. If discussions reach an impasse, you can then post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly. ==

Don't know your schedule, and don't want to rush you, but if you have any working content for this ep, might want to get it created as someone improperly created something. (It was just plot over 201's article, but still). - Favre1fan93 (talk) 19:57, 15 October 2014 (UTC)

I don't have much, but I can add what I have so that it is at least set up properly. We can move forward from there. - adamstom97 (talk) 03:40, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

If you have anything at all for "Face My Enemy", found this for you if you have not already seen it. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 04:00, 21 October 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for that, I hadn't seen it yet. I'm thinking of going ahead and just making pages for most if not all episodes, probably just with a plot summary and ratings info, and then going back and filling in anything else we have, like reviews and casting and that sort of thing. It seems that several other shows do that, and it will mean others can contribute if they wish, and hopefully we wont have any more issues like that previous hasty 2x02 page create. What do you think? - adamstom97 (talk) 04:47, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
Let's try for new episodes only, because it will be easier to find the info such as reviews and production info. We can then take the time either during the Carter break or next summer to better populate season 1 eps. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 20:24, 21 October 2014 (UTC)
Sounds like a plan. - adamstom97 (talk) 05:01, 22 October 2014 (UTC)

Here are two sources for "A Fractured House": Tattooed man, Mockingbird costume. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 05:40, 31 October 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (season 1), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Robert Baker. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Gotham Ratings

Hello. Why did you revert the ratings back to the old way? Sleep Hollow has their ratings like the style I had put in place. Those links actually linked to each episode above. Also the reverted version looks bigger. It makes the page look too big. Once there is a second season, all of that data will transfer to a new page with a smaller listing of just season ratings overall. Kiraroshi1976 (talk) 23:47, 9 November 2014 (UTC)

Hey, I was going of the Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. pages, which use this format. My biggest issues with your version were that the ratings should be sortable, at least the title should be aligned left, probably the dates too, refs don't need to be repeated in the same row, and it just looked all squished up, unnecessarily. I disagree that it made the page look too big, since the page is pretty small and sparse compared to many other series and season pages. - adamstom97 (talk) 01:02, 10 November 2014 (UTC)

Thank you. The only reason I put refs for all down there was since the pilot had the refs that way. I can understand it being too small. Kiraroshi1976 (talk) 01:43, 10 November 2014 (UTC)

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on Gotham (TV series). Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Logical Fuzz (talk) 09:10, 10 November 2014 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for reverting, I completely misread that sentence originally :) -Fandraltastic (talk) 23:33, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

It's alright, I thought that was what you did :) - adamstom97 (talk) 23:40, 5 December 2014 (UTC)

Arrow

I am not sure where you are reading that MOS guidelines can supersede policies, but they cannot. WP:FUC is a policy based around legal rights. It clearly states that if a free alternative exists, then it should be used. A free alternative exists. If you disagree, then please feel free to start a discussion on the Arrow talk page, because your bold revert is in violation of a POLICY. As for the MOS itself, that is currently in the process of being rewritten to reflect the NON-FREE policy.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 21:51, 13 December 2014 (UTC)

Well, the image you are adding isn't a free image, it is an official promotional logo used by the CW, and since the MOS says intertitle shot, not just logo, and every other series page uses the intertitle shot as well, I don't see what your issue is. WP:FUC is not being ignored because no free alternative can possibly exist to the official intertitle shot. If a free logo did exist, then it would not be applicable, because it would not be an official logo that represents the series. - adamstom97 (talk) 22:30, 13 December 2014 (UTC)
Yes, it is the official logo, but if you read about copyright laws you'd see that you cannot copyright basic text. Thus, the logo design itself is not sufficient enough to establish a copyright, hence why it is free to use. If you look at the image, you'll see that it is actually tagged as public domain.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 01:27, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
I see where your coming from, and though I don't agree that the promotional logo is comparable to the intertitle shot, I see that you may have grounds to change what the MOS says, so I recommend we revert the page to what current consensus around the encyclopaedia deems to be the preferable option, and you continue this discussion over at the MOS (I believe you already have started some stuff over there anyway). If it is agreed that this is the best option for all TV projects, then we can proceed from there. - adamstom97 (talk) 04:39, 14 December 2014 (UTC)
The promo logo is comparable, because is the image used in all marketing for the show. It's the image used more widely than the intertitle shot, and given that you don't lose anything as a reader no matter what image is there, it's best to follow the policy. So, if by revert the page to current consensus (and I'm not sure whose consensus you're referring to), you mean the consensus of the fair-use policy that says use free images, then yes we should? Again, the policy overrides anything an MOS states, even when that MOS is out of date and not in-line with the legal policies of Wikipedia.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 04:49, 14 December 2014 (UTC)

Whitespace

Bignole said that "there's no white space in Google Chrome, there IS whitespace in Internet Exporer, and a small amount of whitespace in Firefox". So you're using Internet Explorer? XD Holy crap that's old. AlexTheWhovian (talk) 07:15, 19 December 2014 (UTC)

It isn't what browser your using, it's the size of the screen. I use Google Chrome, and this is what I am seeing:

The Flash

The dates are arbitrary. There are better ways of writing then simply constantly listing out dates (or frames of dates). We know that the series had more episodes added prior to the premiere, the fact that the press release came out in September is not relevant. Again, we're not here to chronicle every baby step the show made. Additionally, constantly starting a sentence with the date just reads like a list morphed into prose, instead of professionally written prose. This is why you see the dates moved more to the end of a sentence. Numbers are also spelled out when they are lower than 10.  BIGNOLE  (Contact me) 13:21, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

Cast and characters on SHIELD S2 episode articles

I've been thinking about this, and I think we can remove these sections. Just wrangle it all into your "Casting" sections as "All principle characters stared" or "All principle characters stared, with the exception of X". You list them in the lead, so you are good I think. Also, you have not done this for the S1 eps, and I seem to like that format better. However, if you do want that section, you should include the guest stars there too. But I just think it is redundant because you go very in depth with the casting section. Let me know what you think. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 17:38, 28 December 2014 (UTC)

I was trying to find a way of not having to have the cast members in the plot, and came across a featured article (might have been a Simpsons episode article) that used this format, and thought I would try it out. The only reason some of the first season pages don't have them is I just haven't gotten around to changing them yet. However, perhaps just having that info in the casting section will work. I guess its worth a shot, and if it doesn't work we can change it back or work something else out. - adamstom97 (talk) 17:45, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
To me, I think that would work better, because as I said, the sections now look incomplete without the guest stars as well. And if you were only intending to have the main cast, we can easily state that in the beginning of the Casting section. - Favre1fan93 (talk) 00:49, 29 December 2014 (UTC)
